I
went to the 1st day of SM City San Lazaro’s 3 day sale event in Manila
yesterday, it’s my 3rd visit in that mall and I’m starting to appreciate more
about this mall because they are much more different compare to other SM
Supermalls branch, I like the spacious walkway for shoppers and section of store
tenants placed in section or by floor. Its much easy to visit a store because
they are contained in one area that you know that all brands with the same
category can be found near to it.
Me and my family lived in Sampaloc,
Manila during the 80’s and we move to Sta. Cruz during the 90’s and then I
studied in Espiritu Santo Parochial School around the 90’s. San Lazaro is a
familiar place to me and I know that the mall stands in a former land that sits
the famous horse race track called San Lazaro Hippodrome. My first visit in SM
City San Lazaro was 4 years ago where I conduct a blog 101 seminar to some
students and my 2nd visit was 2 weeks ago and followed by my 3rd visit
yesterday. There are lots of changes from this mall when I last visited it 4
years ago and It looks nice and the lighting around the mall is very comfy.
my triple treat experience here are - shop, dine and enjoy!
Me
and my friends went there to check out the sale and also shop for some items for
my wife and son, also I’m on a hunt for yummy mooncakes.
At
the event center they have lots of kiosk selling discounted items, there’s
also a raffle area where people can place their entry and get lucky to win a
Yamaha motorcycle.
Before
we start shopping and check out some stores, we went to Wendy’s and try their
Real Meal Deals, for me it’s the most affordable price of Wendy’s that they can
offer and I like this concept, because its been eons since Wendy’s announce a
food that can fit to you daily budget. The meal with a price tag of P49 is a
winner and didn’t hurt my wallet. Although that the burgers are pricey, but the
Real Meal Deals will make you go back to Wendy’s.
We got Biggie ice tea on the table
Yummy Spring Roll with
rice priced at P49
The delicious and tasty Beef steak with rice priced at
P49
and Macaroni salad with the price of P49
I love the spring roll
meal of Wendy’s, at first it will taste like those lumpia or spring roll sold in
Jollibee and Chowking, but this one stands out and much more tastier compare to
other fast food joints that sell lumpia or spring roll. I don’t know if we call
this lumpia, but the word spring roll is much more classy to say and hear. It’s
a must try if you want to try their Real Meal Deals in Wedny’s.
The Beef
steak with rice didn’t fail me, I just wished that they can add more beefsteak
sauce because the steak is yummy and juicy, they used the beefy burger patty
from the Baconator and they cook it with a beef steak sauce to make it more
tastier, And compare to other burger steak in fast food joints, Wendy’s got the
crown for tastyness, affordable price and heavyness in my tummy. I just want to
suggest that should add more sauce, or I might buy or request for an additional
sauce next time.
The Macaroni salad is a classic in Wendy’s, I know that
everyone misses the salad bar buffet and people who enjoys Wendy’s during the
90’s will miss the salad bar big time! Unfortunately, all salad bars in the
Philippines are removed and now I want to wish that Wendy’s should bring back
the salad bar and put it a strategic area where people are very responsible
getting their salad. The macaroni salad with a price of P49 is a
winner!
This
photo showed that I already started shopping! hahahaha
Ayzee, Janese, Misyel and Rain just finished the Real Meal
Deals mania. I want to go back and want to try their other RMD
offerings.
Wendy’s did change sometimes, but it’s a classic fast food
store that should stay. I really miss the salad bar and the double ice tea with
a price of P15 only, also the Chili con carne went pricey, but I still order it
and love to eat it before watching a movie. Wendy’s in SM San Lazaro is located
at the ground floor.
Going back to shopping, I checked out first the stores and
kioks around the event center, I’m surprised that some brands really up to the
dare to offer 70% discount off in some great items.
I finally spotted the mooncake booth of Polland, I bought 4
boxes
My favorite section of SM whenever they have a sale, the toy
section is always full of discounted items, I bought two toy cars for my son,
one trailer truck for P60 and one monster truck car for only P30. I paid P100 at
the cashier area.
The
raffle price got an upgrade, last 3 day sale, all SM Supermalls are giving away
some laptops, but for this new 3 day sale, they are giving away motorcycles to
lucky raffle draw winners. So lucky!
There’s a dice game every mooncake festival, I just don’t get
why they need to play the game, but a fellow blogger told me about the game, but
I forgot to check her blog and understand more about this dice game. Here in SM
City San Lazaro they invited people to play the game and check out the dice game
combination and you can win some items or even a shopping GC. There’s a long
line on queue and people want to play the dice game and try their
luck.
I also visited the Our Home store at the 2nd floor. I heard
that their sofa and other fixtures are having a 20% and sometimes up to 30-40%
off sale.
I just realized that sofas are so affordable, paying for P7k
to 15k is okay for me end, now I dream of owning my own sofa and place it
somewhere where I usually work at home.
Above are some selections, but my sis told me something that
I should choose a better quality that can last longer.
my wish list of table set, I like both tables, I usually see
this when I stay in a hotel, I work here and also eat in this table.
my
other wishlist, a reclining sofa.. omg, I can sit here while I play PS3 or
watch movie at home, it’s a perfect chair for the three of us – me, wife and
baby
Checking some stores that are on sale too – Plains &
Prints and Blue Magic.
A
new store that pop ups is Candie’s. They are on sale too.
I
saw that they have a Team Pacquiao store, all I know that this store is
available in non SM Supermalls, but I’m surprised to see that SM City San Lazaro
got this.. awesome!
I
got invited by my friends here to check out Beauty and Butter, I’m not a fan of
nail spa or salon, but my wife teaches me to appreciate these beauty stores even
if I’m a guy.
Not
only for nail spa… Beauty and Butter also have foot spa, massages, and also
facial services.
We
we’re informed that Beauty and Butter in SM City San Lazaro is newly open, and
they opened the store for the 3 day sale event and now they offer 20% off in all
services. (I just saw a sign outside the store about the discount)
spotted:
Janese, Ayzee and Misyel receiving some nail spa love.
Here’s
my service, a nice paraffin hand and massage, it’s the best ever and I enjoyed
the massage in my right hand because that’s the most tiring part of my body,
hand stress in typing, using the mouse and also txting. I want to have this
service again when I visit SM City San Lazaro, I also promised to them that I’ll
be back and I want to try that P700 full body massage. Its pricey, but its okay,
but I want to check how skilled their staff.
My
last stop is at Antoinio’s Bibingka, I first discovered this from my friends who
went to the SM Megamall Mega Food Sale, I thought that it was an ordinary
bibingka stall like in Bibingkinitan, but their version is so cool and I like
the idea of having their own mini area for tables and chairs, it was like a mini
restaurant complete with a counter and divider for customers who want to
eat.
I’m
a super convert when I first tried their bibingka special and hot tablea choco,
I tried it first when I visited the mall last week.
You
can celebrate Christmas everyday here..because puto bumbong is served
everyday
mini
Bibingka.
Bibingka
special – so what’s the special thing? – there’s an oozing melted white cheese
and salted egg on top.
Finishing
our day with yummy food from Antonio’s bibingka – Misyel, Rain and Ayzee
After my shopping adventure in SM City San Lazaro, I went to SM City
North EDSA to meet my friends there, I bought boxes of mooncakes and I shared
all of it to them.
The mooncake from Polland, also I bought one more box from
The President’s restaurant. We met at Wendy’s and I’m very thankful that my
blogger friends waited for me there are hours of my late arrival.
Enzo
and Alwin, my sis Misyel is seated next to me..kaya wala photo
aahahaha
Earth,
Sella and Mas Pre
It’s
a whole day of shopping madness and great dining with friends.
My visit
in SM City San Lazaro made me to realize that I should go back to my old city, I
lived there almost half of my life, and it was boring during the yesteryears and
there’s no plaza or playground for us kids, we play on the street and we even
walk around the city just to check out new things. Having a mall like SM City
San Lazaro opened up a lot of opportunities to people who lived there, I saw
that many tricycle drivers are waiting infront of the mall just to transport the
shoppers to the nearest LRT station, and there’s a new jeepney route going to
other city. Its fun to see the mall sitting at a former hippodrome, I really
miss the race tracks and smell of horse’s poo, the race track didn’t go well
that time and there’s an issue of people gambling with horse race bets. I’m glad
that SM got the place and it serves as a gateway for people who want to relax,
enjoy and shop.
If you want to visit SM City San Lazaro, just take the
LRT train and drop off to Tayuman station. You can ride the tricycle or a
pedicab going to to SM City San Lazaro, OR you can just walk from the station up
to the mall, its just a 5 min walk. I think that’s the easiest route if you have
access to ride any train in other cities.
