I spotted this Red Table: Korean fast casual restaurant in SM City Manila. I just saw the banner at the entrance gate and then I got curious and decided to check it out at the 4th level of the mall.
Red Table looks promising, but not that Korean resto look, the name fast casual restaurant is a another term for “fast food”
The name of the fast food is very common but strong… not sound like a Korean resto, but more like a Chinese resto, but with the subtext, you’ll be reminded that they serve Korean cuisine.
I stood infront of the fast food and read the menu and price, I noticed that the food are affordable, maybe because that SM City Manila’s majority walk ins are mostly college and high school students. The price is a come on for them with their affordable price. check the entire menu below later.
It’s a self service order, you’ll approach the counter and place your order there. They will give you a number for the waiter to deliver your food.
I noticed that they have trays on the counter table, and here they placed the hot pot or plates. Each tray carry chopsticks and kimchi.
The view from the counter
I just ordered quickly and forgot to check out the content of that thing in the counter.
They also offer free wifi here in Red Table.
The view from my table… I spotted some Koreans dining in
So here’s the menu!!!
I ordered on Kimchi jjige stew with rice
here’s my number…waiting for my food and it arrived after 5 min.
Here’s my Kimchi Jjige
for Php 160, it’s the affordable rate for their food like this Kimchi Jjige, I expected that the serving will be small, but they used the same Korean hot pot for my stew. I expected that there will be more pork in it,but I forgot that I just paid Php 160 for the entire stew. In a real Korean resto, the pricing is triple.
I’m disappointed with the content…with just a small 5-6 pcs of pork and lots of Kimchi in it, but the soup tastes good and the chili traveled all the way to my nostrils and it gave me a satisfying feeling after it.
I’ll give them a 2nd shot in my next visit, maybe I’ll try those noodles and some beef with rice.
