Not yet the end for the Gwiyomi mania in the Philippines

This is a delayed blog post.. sorry for I was so busy few months ago and I just missed a meet and greet with Korean artist “Hari”, she’s the original artist of the song “Gwiyomi” she also invented the hand and facial moves together with the song and it became a viral hit last summer, and according to my research the it all started last Feb 2013 and then it went viral after some Koreans started to upload their own version of Gwiyomi, which later was picked up by cute people here in the Philippines.. Btw “gwiyomi” is a Korean word means “cute people”

Even here at home we started doing the Gwiyomi craze.. my son loves to play the music and do his own hand moves hahaha.

Hari was here in Manila last September for a series of mall tour in Ayala malls, TV guest and meet up with the fans. Thanks to Warner Music Philippines for bringing Hari here in the Philippines.

Last May 2013, during our trip in Kuala Lumpur, I got this note from a Malaysian magazine showing how the hand and facial move with the song Gwiyomi

(ahahahaha I even memorize it and try it inside the bathroom…. so that no one can see me do it)

I tried the Gangnam style..but this Gwiyomi is very difficult to memorize.

HARI: The Original Korean Artist behind Gwiyomi

Hari (born February 6, 1990) is South Korean singer who popularized the Gwiyomi Song, or Kwiyomi Song (귀요미 송) was released on February 18, 2013 and became an internet phenomenon. It was inspired by a gesture from rapper South Korean Jung Ilhoon of boy group BtoB.

The gesture is called 'Gwiyomi Player'. The "Gwiyomi Player" was mostly recreated by teenage girls from Southeast Asia, where the K-pop music genre has a huge and loyal fanbase especially in Thailand and in the Philippines.

Philippine media described the "Gwiyomi" song as the latest web-viral sensation that has unseated "Gangnam Style" to become the new K-pop craze. True to the cute style of Gwiyomi, Hari’s other singles are sweet, fun and easy to listen to.
