Unboxing: Kata F1s qHD display and 1.3Ghz quad core smartphone (SRP PHP 4499)

DSC_0001
I have on hand the brand new Kata F1s smartphone from Kata Digital, this new smartphone is the newest line of dual sim and quad core smartphone with 4.5” qHD display. From the size of the Kata F1s, you can really tell that this is for the small hand people who are not fit to hold a bigger screen phones.

Few months back Kata Digital unveiled their phablet series - Kata M1 and M2, its their large screen series with a monster battery life and fast quad core processor. Perfect for gaming, browsing and net surfing for the entire day.

But this time, the new Kata F1s was built in thin and small scale with a quad core system, but it still embeds the tech requirement we always wanted for better speed, HD display, connectivity, touch sensitivity and good plastic casing.

so let’s unbox this and see what’s inside and throw up my first impression about the Kata F1s.
(I’m testing this for almost a week already)

Its easy to hold and it won’t slip from your hands.

The grid back cover helps for more grip power when you hold the Kata F1s.

The front camera
- I observed that the front camera is way better than the rear camera of this unit.
Also, I noticed that its better than the M1 and M2 front camera.

On top of the phone is the earphone slot and the microUSB charging and data transfer slot, I noticed that the microUSB slot is not so friendly haha.

I’m glad that they didn’t follow the Kata M2 buttons, this time the volume button is back to the left side and the power button at the right side.

My apps and the good performance of the qHD display. Its small but the details for graphics is great.

The keyboard screen
- for me it’s a bit smaller, because I have big hands. I think this phone is design for people who have smaller hands. I think its perfect for the ladies. For big guys like me, Raffy, Ron and Enzo, expect lots of typos when we use this unit hahaha. I think its better to activate the spell checker and spell predictions.

The rear camera performance is great too! although that the 8MP quality for rear camera are always the standard MP, but the greatness here is that the Android OS powers it to have better quality, check out the spot focusing and the ISO custom setting, those features can help you shoot better photos in different lighting conditions.

Overview:
For my early test and first impressions, I can tell that all of the tech specs are fine, but my worry here is the battery life, because the quad core processor can eat a lot of battery juice when it start to get busy via an app.

I observe that this unit eats more power when you use it always, so I suggest that you have to carry your power bank and your pocket wifi with you, because with the battery 1550mAh, it is not enough to power this unit for the entire day if you are a heavy user of smartphones for gaming, 3G internet and Facebook.
Once again, watch out for the public release of Kata F1s this Oct 20 in all Kata Digital Stores.
