PLDT has unveiled to the media today its latest innovation to its TVolution
brand, the TVolution stick. The device can be easily connected to any
HDMI-read TV or monitor. The Stick, which is not bigger than a dongle turns your
TV and monitor into operational, albeit not that powerful computer.
Running on Windows 8.1 you can do the usual stuff on a computer right on your
TV like, word/excel processing, browsing the internet, receive emails and the
like. You can even run games on it, but of course don’t expect the graphics
intensive ones.
The TVolution stick has an integrated wi-fi and Bluetooth
capabilities. It runs on a quad-core intel Atom processor and it uses the intel
HD graphics system. The device carries 32GB storage, 2GB memory, a USB 2.0 port
and a Micro SD card slot.
To
use this device you just need to plug it in the TV’s HDMI port and you need to
have it connected to a DC wall charger or powerbank to work.
PLDT has
mentioned that new subscribers to DSL plans 999 and up and all PLDT HOME Fibr
plans who apply online can get this stick for free. The bundles also contain
content from Fox International, iFlix, and Spinnr.
