We saw a teaser of Vivo V5 Plus last year at the launch of Vivo V5, and after we saw that they've included an extra camera lens with 8MP at the front, we started to forget Vivo V5 already and want to try and grab that Vivo V5 Plus because of its dual camera feature 20MP and 8MP front camera, also we were surprised that the celebrity endorser for Vivo V5 Plus is NBA star Stephen Curry, when we saw teaser, we're pretty sure that this is the next flagship Vivo smartphone for 2017.
So fast forward to present day and here we finally got to do a test and try with Vivo V5 Plus during its grand launch in SM MOA. And I can say that its really impressive to see a first in the world tech add on a smartphone to have two camera lens at the front -- 20MP and 8MP. These two camera lens perform the same but gives you a different result.
Vivo V5 Plus is made to capture the perfect selfie. Thanks to the 20MP and 8MP front duo camera, the 20MP captures the clearest photo of your face with selfie soft light feature, the 8MP camera do the work to capture other details of the background and it let you choose to have a flat selfie photo with the background or choose another feature that you can do a BOKEH mode in your selfie, blurring the background and reveal only the front selfie of your face with awesome clarity and sharpness.
Don't also forget the 1/2 8-inch 16MP rear camera, a much more upgraded version for the Vivo to capture ultra clear and high quality images infront of you.
The 20MP front camera of the Vivo V5 Plus is made from Sony's 20MP IMX376, a better camera specs that can capture the subject in low light and natural light conditions and produce a better quality image.
Also the good news is that Vivo is now on the top 5 for global smartphone premium brand. I predict that Vivo's slot will climb to number 3 if their phones performed well in the 1st Q of 2017.
Stephen Curry, NBA star from the Golden State Warriors is the star of Vivo's line of celebrity endorser.
My initial impression:
I thought that the Vivo V5 Plus is bigger than the Vivo V5, but they said that the the screen is much bigger than the V5, but both got the same size. The camera function is impressive, this is a good phone for people who love to take selfies, but the shot refocus is a big advantage if you want to have selfie with large group and this will not blur out the background with you.
Other phones with sharp front camera has only one focus point, but Im glad that Vivo V5 Plus can let you choose which selfie mode you want-- the bokeh mode or just the ordinary selfie with out the background blur
