Globe Live is known for producing a series of events like musical stage show and talent search, they also broadcast the event and the behind the scene in a reality show format via Youtube and Facebook, sometimes they showcase the show for free so that everyone can have access to musical stage shows. This year, Globe Live has teamed up with Elements Music Camp, a big workshop and seminar camp for unsigned or published indie artist who want to train more about singing, performing on stage and also polish their skills in writing songs.
Artist that attended the previous Elements Music Camp ( 2 years ago, I think) are now a big name in the music and entertainment industry. At the launch event, they showcased the talent of Reese Lansangan and Clara Benin, who are alumni of the previous music camp. Also mentioned Ben&Ben band and the young indie music composer Bullet Dumas was also from the previous music camp.
Elements Music Camp is a 5 day training focusing on three aspects: technical, creative and business with the mentors belonging to the top tiers of the industry. The mentors talked about a wide range of topics including Philippine music history, music theory, lyric writing and musical arrangement
Ryan Cayabyab, one of the founder of Elements Music Camp shared to us that the Filipino music or OPM (Original Pilipino Music) is very successful here in our country, but the challenge is that how will they bring our Filipino music to a global stage.
It means that the challenge of Elements Music Camp now is that they will be searching 10 lucky indie artist that will be under their program and training and will work with the best of the world's music producers and also our very own Filipino producers. Imagine... A Pinoy and Grammy award winning producer will work together to bring a new sound, a new music that will be performed and carried by our talented Filipino artist under Elements Music Camp.
Joe Caliro, Globe Senior Advisor for Creative Marketing and Multi Media Businesses said that "The Philippines is full of musical talents and we should discover and prepare them globally. The world has become smaller because of the internet. Music distribution has evolved from record bars to online music streaming distribution such as Spotify and Youtube, this is where Globe comes in"
