Esports in the Philippines is going into a serious level. Starting August 4, 2018, the Road to the Nationals will focus to search for the best of the best esport pro athletes that will compete head to head with other local players in the Philippines. Its a year long national tournament for DOTA 2, Mobile Legends, NBA 2k19 and Tekken, qualifiers of the tournament will battle once more this 2019 for the The Nationals, the first-ever esports franchise model league in the country.
Eight teams from each game (DOTA2 for PC and Mobile Legends for Mobile)are selected through the initial rounds. Those that qualify will get the chance to be drafted and sponsored by the pioneer teams of The Nationals. Aside from this, there is a prize pool worth millions of pesos at stake for the three games.
The Nationals will be covered by ESPN5 on TV5 and thanks to its 6 corporate partners for pushing esports and gaming into professional level, thanks to TNC Pro Team, HappyFeet eSports, BrenPro Inc., Cignal TV Inc., PLDT/Smart Communications, and STI Education Systems

There are a lot of things to do and this is just a start. The Philippines is ready and finally! we can now professionalize esports and this is a dream come true to each gamer. There are a lot of talks already from the Nationals organizer that they are looking for two more game that would want to included in the tournament.
As for application, the tournament is under the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. so each joining player will undergo proper process, medical test and approval before being part of the Nationals.
Teens, adults and minors can join the tournament. For minors they are required to present parent or guardian approval before joining the tournament.
