Authentic Vietnamese Flavors at Crimson Hotel Filinvest City

Cafe Eight of Crimson Hotel Filinvest City continues to bring a monthly of food specials at their buffet section. For the end of August and start of the first week of September (Aug 31-Sept 7, 2018). They’ve offered the freshest food from the Land of the Dragon People.

Vietnamese food are also close to our hearts because of the citrus and fresh taste mix of veggies, hot pho noodles, spicy kick and Bahn mi sandwiches that are becoming so popular here in our country. Food lovers who visited Crimson Hotel Filinvest City few weeks ago got a chance to enjoy the Taste of Vietnam at the buffet corner of Cafe Eight restaurant.

And yes..I super enjoyed the unlimited pho noodles, salad and spring roll. There are other Vietnamese dishes offered and they are also a best seller.

Buffet rate at Cafe Eight is at PHP 1,514 net for lunch, PHP 1,729 for dinner and PHP 2,100 for Sunday brunch.

They also offered a Xin Chao! Special Wine Dinner, its a 5 course meal with unlimited wine and all dishes will be prepared by the guest chefs from Vietnam.

For the 2nd time, they've invited the Vietnam Chefs to come over and cook the authentic Vietnamese food for Cafe Eight. Thanks to Chef Nguyen Thi Khanh Ngan, Tran Kim Hoang Trong and Vo Van Chien for bringing the recipe and teaching this to Cafe Eight in house chefs.

Its funny that I thought I was talking to a Filipino chef at Cafe Eight, and I didn't noticed that they are the Vietnamese Chef, they look like Pinoys and I noticed when they talked to me in English with Vietnamese accent.

Here are the food featured during the Taste of Vietnam in Crimson Hotel Filinvest City

Goi Cuon voi Tom vaThit Luoc

Banh Khoai Mi Nuong
(Bakes Cassave Cake)

Che Khoai Mon
(Sticky Rice with Taro in Sweet Soup)

I dont know what it is called, but this rice cake has a rice wine...so expect a strong soury flavor
Im not sure if its rice wine, or maybe a strong vinegar

Its like Im eating a sago in a ball

The best seller here at the Taste of Vietnam is the Pho Noodles cart. People go here to claim their Pho Noodles, the set up will make you feel that you are in Vietnam

Vietnamese Traditional Beef Noodle Soup
I only taste pho noodles when I dine in a Vietnamese restaurant, but its so weird that Im tasting this inside the hotel. Its so rare to have Vietnamese food in a buffet of a hotel.  Im glad that Crimson Hotel brought the Taste of Vietnam for the 2nd year. Im just hoping that they can extend this more so that many can visit them for the Vietnamese food.

My Plate 1
For me the curry chicken tastes so good. Its different from the curry we know like in Japanese, Indian and Chinese, but for Vietnamese curry, its more tastier, but the kind they offered here has less spicy flavor. Just adjust with the spicy flavor when you dine in here at Crimson.

Trying some rice cakes and spring roll.
All are okay and good, but the only rice cake kind that I didnt like is the one with vinegar or maybe rice wine. The taste is a bit weird already for my taste buds. I wonder If Im eating it the right way.
