A new way of payment on Lazada have been made available thru the help of GCASH.
Announced last September 12, 2018 at Yes Please! Bar in BGC, GCash and Lazada Executives talked about this major partnership and how it will help users shop more conveniently with the use of GCash.
Users with GCASH accounts may now pay their orders on Lazada simply by adding and linking their existing GCash account to their Lazada App.
Pre-Requisites:
- Must have both Lazada App and Gcash app installed
- You must have funds on your GCASH App
To Use GCash as Payment:
1) Order Items as usual
2) Once you have all the items you want to order, Click Buy Now
3) Click Place Order
4) In the Select Payment Method, scroll down and look for the GCASH option
5) Click PAY NOW. It will take you to the GCASH APP page(make sure you tick the “Save your GCash Account for Future Use!”
6) It will prompt you to login your phone number and then it will send you a 6 digit code.
7) after entering the code, it will prompt you with your GCash MPIN
8) After entering the MPIN it will show you how much will be deducted to your GCash balance
9) press Agree and Pay
10) after confirming payment, you will receive a text message successfully linking your gcash account to your lazada account as well as the notification of payment.
11) Once you done the above step once, the Gcash account will always be linked to your lazada account and no need to do the steps again when you do your online shopping again in the future.
“Being able to shop online using GCash App solves two problems, mainly providing access and convenience to consumers to shop online without a credit card and enabling merchants to expand their consumer base and minimize risk on COD transactions,” said Anthony Thomas, Mynt’s President and CEO.
“This goes back to our journey for financial inclusion. Now, no matter how small or big a Filipino is, he or she can enjoy Lazada goods and services via GCash,” he added. Mynt is the operating company behind GCash.
When asked if this will also make installment payments available to GCash users, they responded that they are looking into it, but it will probably be implemented in the next few months.
Refunds are usually a concern with online shopping and by using GCash it will still follow the usual refund process of Lazada. If your order is still in pending, you can cancel the order and get refunded. If the order have already been delivered, then you can go to your Order History, select the order that you want refunded, and select Request Refund.
GCash and Lazada are holding multiple promotions when you pay using GCash especially during the biggest online shopping days - 11.11 and 12.12- where customers can get as much as 50% discount up to PHP300. At the same time, customers can enjoy 20% discounts up to PHP200 on flash sales.
Filipinos using Globe, Smart, Sun, ™ or Talk &Text SIM can register for a GCash Account for Free. Customers can download the GCASH App-Available for free on the App Store and on Google Play.
