I've been to Balaw Balaw before and that was 10 years ago but I was outside and waiting for a friend that night, and I know that this restaurant is famous for offering exotic cuisine to their customers, I heard that they serve other animals as food, but then they changed their menu and now offer much more light and exotic foods from insects, to maggots, to flowers and etc.
Me and bloggers were there to eat our lunch before going on tour around Angono, Rizal, and all I can say that it is a challenge for each of us try those weird meals that they offer.

I didn't know in the first place that this restaurant is owned and part as a gallery for the late artist Perdigon Vocalan, a painter, sculptor and also a chef. He developed and invented these cuisines that makes Balaw Balaw be popular of, balaw balaw is a term they used for "binurong hipon" that they sell in a bottle.
inside Balaw Balaw are simply native in style, they displayed all kind of mask and mini figures of giant costumes that was worn in their festivals. Balaw Balaw is also a gallery were you can buy sculptures and paintings, you can also ask them to customize a giant paper mache mask for you.
