(update March 2015)
There's a new beach resort in Playa Calatagan, Batangas, its new and it opened to the public last March 2013. The new resort called Aquaria Beach Resort, is a part of Playa Calatagan's Leisure Tourism Estate and developed by Landco Pacific Corporation the same developer for Peninsula de Punta Fuego, Leisure Farms, Hacienda Escudero, Playa Calatagan, Batangas; Playa Laiya, Batangas; and Playa Azalea in Samal Island, Davao.
Its a new beach escapades for everyone located near Manila, there's no need to ride a plane going to nice beaches in the Philippines, you can take a 2-3 hour road trip and enjoy the creamy sand and ocean with less time and affordable price.
Beach season here in the Philippines is non stop, although that we encounter typhoons and storms after the month of May , the beach season is still active even in the start of the month of June. Just take the advantage of the good weather and make sure go to the beach before a typhoon strike. Never go to the beach after an aftermath of a typhoon or storm. If a storm is coming, then schedule another trip after 2 weeks after its land fall. This will bring you a clean sand and less nature debris around the beach.
Aquaria beach resort is part of a lifestyle concept by Landco Pacific Corporation, they are building these Nautilus condominiums around the Aquaria beach resort. They are now selling these condo units and it will be complete in the next coming years, maybe finished around 2014-15.
Condo unit owners will enjoy the natural amenities - like the beach, sand and sun, and also Aquaria will be a part of it too, but the beach resort is opened for everyone for day tour only. As of now, the condo buildings are not yet developed, its just Aquaria and the beach front are the one accessible for visitors.
I got invited to a tour within the beach area and also in Aquaria Beach Resort. I fell inlove with the place already, because its just near here in our place in Cavite, and driving to Calatagan is just 2 hours away from my home. I didn't know that we're near hahaaha. Now I need to get a driver's license so that I can go here with my family everytime I want to see the beach - I call this my next project for 2013.

There's no overnight stay here in Aquaria, I haven't also inquired if ever camping in tents are allowed.
I got a tip from their marketing staff that guests should call first Aquaria or Landco to check if the pool is operational or the beach is clean and safe for swimming. There are times that natural activity can't be avoided like jelly fish invasion or sea weed wash out, the beach experience this due to natural weather condition and also depends on the current of waves.
Proper swimming attire for the pool is strictly observed here. For the ladies they are required to wear swim suits, bathing suits or rash guards. For men, required to wear board shorts, swimming trunks or bikinis. If you don't have a swimming attire or gear, you can buy a set there in Aquaria or you just take a swim in the beach.
Bringing of foods are allowed, but you have to eat your food at a special area by the beach, you are not allowed to bring your food near the pool. They have a restaurant nearby if you want to order some heavy meals or get a nice drinks. There's also a bar there if you want to juice up with some spike.
When you enter the gate, you'll see the Aquaria kiddie pool
Its a cute set up with lot of sprinklers
Here's the swimming pool for adults - its like an infinity pool, the middle is 6 feet deep.
All kids are required to wear floating vest and ride the floaters if they will use the slide.
Aquaria provides the floater and vest but in limited quantity only.
Here's my view of the pool going up to the slide
There's a floating divider at the end of the slide's drop zone, that's 6 feet.
Here's a colorful beach umbrella and chair sitting around the river pool - that's around 2-3 feet only. Perfect for kids.
My top view...on the way to the slide
This is also a 5 feet pool located on the other side - you can see here the cabanas.
Lots of pools around the slide of Aquaria
all pools are connected to each other, you can walk or use that floater if you want to go around the pool the entire day.
Lifeguards are on watch here every pool schedule. They are very strict.
you see the difference of pool heights...at the start its just 2 feet, and then walk towards the other end its already 6 feet. See the photos of people above.
Kids with height at least 4 feet are allowed to use the giant slide, they will be wearing the float vest and will ride a single or double floater. The slide requires slip power, riding it without the floater is not effective.
The stairs going to the giant slide
I suggest you ride the giant slide with a companion, the fun is in there!
The giant slide scene....from curvy to a big drop
You can land in the pool with a comfy drop or experience a big splash and later on thrown to the pool hahahah.
The reception area and beside it is the shower room
I super love their shower room! its the best shower room ever for a beach resort
For me..they even beaten the looks of hotel resorts.
Aquaria's wash area and toiler...super comfortable.
The shower room area, with their own private cubicle and bench. The pressure of the shower is just fine.
Taking a photo before trying the urinals ahhahaha
Here's the restaurant area of Aquaria and also the bar.
You can order some food here, you can inquire first on what food of the day they offer, or just try to ask if the resto is open.
When we arrived, Chris Cahilig PR set this nice tent for us....
We ate our breakfast and merienda in the tent. Not sure if this is the Event lawn that they offer.
And here's the food that the resto served to us!!
Barbeque!!
Grilled squid!!
LOBSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
here's the chef prepares the lobsters before hitting the hot grill
My 1st plate....omg
View of their restaurant
Okay..I'm ready to heat the sand and beach!
I really like it here in Aquaria, because its peaceful and a perfect beach getaway for relaxation. Unlike other beaches that are crowdy and noisy, here in Aquaria, I experience total beach relaxation. You can also try a napping in a hammock.
The sand is not white..but color is creamy, close to whitish brownish sand.
The sea is calm at around the afternoon, here you can dip or enjoy some water activities like -
1. Snorkeling
2. Wind surfing
3. Kayaking
4. Stand up paddle board -- my favorite
5. Jet ski
at the sand area - you can do ATV or mountain bike at the bike trail area.
you can also play volleyball, frisbee, soccer or fly a kite or just create a sand castle.
The creamy sand
Here's my view from the beach area
Clear ocean water, creamy sand and a nice sunny weather..I think I'm ready to swim now!
no other visual pollution like lots of bangkas, boat or crowded people
Here's my Stand up paddle board
I tried this and I easily got the vibes of paddling in a surf board, its easy kneeling down and instead of standing on top of the surf board.
You can chillax by resting under the tree or have a chit chat with a friend while sitting on a sand
the sand are not too hot, but make sure you wear your flip flops.
While I'm busy taking photos of the pool, then my co-blogger friends road the bangka and I got almost left behind, I don't know where they will head to, but I heard that the destination is on the other side of the island. There's a an old light house sitting there for centuries, we went there via boat, and its around 30 minutes going to the other side of the island, we went back because the waves and current are getting cranky. We went back to other side and did a nice swim in a 5 feet ocean water. We were advised to be careful, because we landed in a part were in a sea urchins farm. Ohhh then I craved for Uni Sashimi hahahah.
Waters are clear and great to dive in... we spent around 30 minutes swimming while the boat parks in the middle of the ocean. can't believe that its still low tide.
Here's our blogger and PR friends having their photo op moments
Summer fun in Aquaria Beach Resort!
This is around 4pm
the sea is quiet and calm... more time for water sports
At around 5:30pm, we saw the glow of the sun, its sun set time...too bad its cloudy and the sun hides under the dark clouds, but its cool to see the orange glow of the sun
ahhhh time to say good bye to Aquaria... I will visit you soon!
