Its a dream come true for me to visit the Wine Museum in Pasay City, I've been planning a visit for October and I didn't expected that a friend asked me to join with him for a Wine Wednesday session, there it was revealed that the Wine Wednesday session is a prelude for a big event that is all about wine.
My body started to go in shock because I haven't heard of this prestigious event with the main goal is to feature hundreds of wines that are exported here in our country. Those are international and local wines that are carried and distributed by the Philippine Wine Merchant, a wine distributor company and the biggest wine merchant in the Philippines.
And during the Wine Wednesday, I got introduced to this event, which I consider as the holy grail of wine event in South East Asia.
Presenting to you...the 16th Grand Wine Experience
This big wine event is scheduled on November 4, 2016 at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel in Resorts World Manila.
It is expected that the 16th Grand Wine Experience will feature 500 kinds of wines and also spirit for one night at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel. To pair the wines, you need also some good food and Im happy to learn that the buffet is prepared by the kitchen of Marriott Hotel.

According to my friend popular wines such as Camus VSOP, Hennessy XO, Glenmorangie 10YO, Patron Tequila Silver, Johnnie Walker Red and Johnnie Walker Black, Montes Cab Sauv, Montes Chardonnay, Yalumba Y Series Chardonnay, Gossips Moscato Sweet Lips, Guntrum Riesling, Stolichnaya Red, Wente, Proseccozonin are all part of The Grand Wine Experience
But I'm so curious to try and taste Dalmore whiskey, because a bottle of Dalmore is priced at PHP 2.5M per bottle. ZOMGGGGG
At the Wine Wednesday session at Wine Museum, I got a chance to try these wines:
Camus VSOP, Hennessy XO, Glenmorangie 10YO, Patron Tequila Silver, Alfonso Light, Johnnie Walker Red and Johnnie Walker Black, Montes Cab Sauv, Montes Chardonnay, Montgras Reserva Carmenere, Yalumba Y Series Chardonnay, Gossips Moscato Sweet Lips, Guntrum Riesling, and Stolichnaya Red.
But I need not to abuse myself hahhha, I just tried a few bottles and checked if it will tickle my wine tasting skills.
For me, this is one of the best wine sessions outside Sofitel. I always attend wine dinners and wine tasting nights at Sofitel, and thanks to them for teaching me how to appreciate wines, that's why I'm so hyper about wines after 5 years of wine appreciation.
I already understand why they are so good.
And why my body keeps on reacting when I hear the word "wine"
At the Wine Wednesday, the only wine that was closed to my heart is a Montes chardonnay. I liked the taste of it and everything sets balance to my taste and enjoyment.
I can say also that Chilean wines are good! and I didn't expected that Montes won my heart.
Also I've tasted a Novellino wine, its a local made wine here in the Philippines, and its one of our top local wine for export. Its sweet and its good too! Perfect wine for people who don't want too much alcohol content on their drinks, this is good for celebration and also New Year. Im going to suggest this to my family for the upcoming New Year.
For spirits, oh wow! I avoided that night, but Hennessy is always my top favorite.
I can say that I woke up with a bang after downing a Hennessy with my family. Its a lesson that I carried till now ---- drink moderately!
Gossips Moscato Sweet Lips
- its sweet, and taste really light
- perfect for a tropical country like the PH
Montes chardonnay
- nuff said, my new fave of the night
Montes Sauvignon
- a smooth wine to end my night
At the bar area of Wine Museum, a bar tender showed to us his original recipe. Mixing a cocktail of Red and Black Label.
