2007 – The Year of the Wrench.
GEARHEAD coming in January from Arcana Studio!

November 13, 2006 (Kansas City, MO) -- Creative team Dennis Hopeless, Kevin Mellon & Ed Herrera introduce the world to GearHead, a wrench-wielding post-teenager with daddy-issues and more than a little pent-up aggression – in GearHead #1 coming in January from Arcana Studio.
“It’s a story about family, responsibility and the corruption of REAL power,” says series writer, Dennis Hopeless. “It’s also about a hot girl who beats people with a wrench and the nearly-naked bureaucrats who’d like her to stop - a little something for everyone.”
GearHead #1, solicited in November’s Previews (order code: NOV063289) is an origin story. Family secrets are revealed and a drag racer becomes a badass with the swing of a wrench.
“It’s like an action movie if Michael Bay cared about plot and characters,” jokes penciller, Kevin Mellon. “Think ‘Pearl Harbor,’ if ‘Pearl Harbor’ was good.”
Arcana’s take on the story:

By Hopeless, Mellon & Herrera

Shelby Cooper lives just outside a world of spandex politicians and electric cars - but F**K them and their world. She's a hot chick with a hotrod. She drives fast, talks trash and hurts people with a big-ass wrench. What does any of that have to do with super powers? Well...

On a mission to find her brother and in search of the destiny she never knew she had, Shelby's life is about to get interesting. Join her on a 4-issue road trip that leads from the drag strip all the way to the White House. Like her father before her, she is GearHead.

- 32-pages, full color, four-issue bi-monthly limited series -- $3.95

GEARHEAD (order code: NOV063289) is spotlighted in the November issue of Previews catalogue for release in January 2007. Ask your retailer.

6th Philippine Toy Convention 2007 production note 1

Azrael in Collectibles Convention 1999

hello and Im back blogging and writing some production notes, I was absent the i think 2 weeks coz I went off out of blogging to attend some personal and a funeral of a relative, So some of the events or projects were left hanging and now Im back to check and write it some in my book.

Last month It was a coincidence that I rode with Vic in a FX from Greenhills to Megamall, we held our chat inside the van and it was like a ToyCon 2007 meeting, we talk about some plans and me pulled out lots of questions about ToyCon 2007.

The target date is on June 3, 2007, still in Megatradehall. Im not sure if we will still get the 2 halls or go on for a day only. Megatradehall is fullybooked once again so the date we got for June is a little bit early for everyone, but its okay... it will be a good convention to start before the coming school days. We were now thinking of what kind of character icon that we can use to represent the 6th event, last 5th, we used the Voltes V and Superman as icons of the event..
for the 6th I joke about the Sinister Six to represent the 6th event hahhahahah.
for now...Im eyeing on Spider-man 3 and TransFormers movie. but how will they represent for the 6th ToyCon.?

Vic informed me that the planned ToyCon Cebu for January 2007 is now cancelled, due to having a hard time organizing the event when we are based here and we can't risk of having a bad event when someone will organize the event who is not part of our group and not familiar of the 5 years of ToyCon. So the main org decides to dissolve the plan.

I'm still looking for a fast way too about the Whilce Portacio event for January 2007. I guess we will not reach the main deadline for January, so I need now to talk to some people who will now help organizing the event. I dont have a final word yet for the DC comics convention for January, as I see now, Le Pavillion tent is nearly assembled.

Teaser poster for ToyCon 2007 will be released soon and a new website facial lift will be surgically processed by me. whew!!!

// to add this post, some company likes to propose for a anime convention for their company. Im not sure about this but I will look up first on their proposal, after the Toei and Hero event, people are now starting to have their own anime convention. I know it is a revenue generating event, but it depends on the market if they will support it and it reaches their convention quality tastes.

more news soon....

Peryahan sa Meadowood

Its a small fair happening inside the village and when we found it out we went there immediately that night, me and Lace hangs out with her mom and sister. We raided the bibingka and puto bumbong.

Perya games
welcome to the Pinoy gamble games haahaha, i love playing inside the perya, especially when I win some money and go home with a smiley face

Color game

the nature of this game is that you will place your bet to 6 colors. and then theres a dice with colors that will be pulled and when the color that you have bet appears on top, means that you will win equals to the amount you placed your bet.

here I won P60 from a P10 bet, means that I won the game 6 times
I've been playing this game since Im a kid in a perya in Sampaloc, Quezon.
hehhehe I think I mastered some tips and tricks of a perya game thats why I won.

tips: if they place already the dice on the pulling string. and you'll see the colors facing towards you., and if the color side of the dice is not visible, it means that the back side of the not visible color dice will appear when it landed on the board after pulling the string.

before the pulling string starts, you can place now your bet to the not visible color.
you have a 70 percent of change of winning the game.

Throw coins game

I dont know what they call this game, but when I was a kid we call it "hulugan ng coins" of throw coins game. during the 90's we used to throw 25 cents coins, but for today they require P1 coins only.

the nature of the game is you will throw your coin and it must land in the middle of the box, without touching the lines of the box, you can win an equal amount of the P1 coin. but if the coin lands on a special marked box, you will win like P5, P10, or a jackpot box in the middle, were you can win a whole tea and cup set of dining plate set.

Number Roulette

this is one of the hardest game to win, its just simple. place your bet to any number 1-30 and when the roulette lands to your number, you will win some prizes. Prizes are displayed in front. like cheese crackers and some dining plates.

// I was surprised on the result of this fight, at first I thought that Manny will KO Morales on the 9th round as he releases this word way before the fight during his interviews. Morales didnt expected that his fight with Pacman will end in round 3. It was a good psi war during the release of their interviews on TV. Pacman did a good punch during the start of the match.

more reviews coming up after I watched the replay of the Pacquiao-Morales III

Manny Pacquiao Crushes Erik Morales By KO

They said he could not get any bigger, but Manny Pacquiao (43-3-2, 33KOs) is on top of the world after knocking out Erik Morales (48-5, 24KOs) in three rounds in a short, but brutal bout.

The Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada was an absolute zoo on Saturday night, as thousands of Mexican and Filipino fans sold out the building to catch third bout of a rivalry that captured the attention of boxing fans all over the world.

The fight started slow in the first round, but they began to throw plenty of leather in the second round. After the two fighters began to exchange huge punches in the second, Morales went down from a big right hand while he left himself open.

They went to war in the final seconds of round two to make the entire arena erupt with applause.

At the start of the third and final round, Pacquiao began to batter Morales with power punches that had the tough Mexican on very unsteady legs. A barrage of punches sent Morales down for the second time. He was able to make it to his feet, but Pacquiao attacked him with big combinations to put him back in trouble.

Morales tried in vain to fight Pacquiao off, but he was unable to fight off, as another set of hard punches sent him down to the mat for the third time. Morales sat on the canvas, looked to his corner and indicated that he had enough, taking the full count from the referee to give Pacquiao the third round knockout win.
