My speed dating experience at One Week Notice : A Pre-Valentines Celebration
Friday, February 13, 2009
I got an invite for this event, and its a speed dating event for singles called "One Week Notice : A Pre-Valentines Celebration" organized by Arete Events and it was held inside Galileo Enoteca in Pasong Tamo, Makati. This event is a good timing for the week before the Valentines Day for 2009, and the invitation is not for being a participant, but I was there to have a photo coverage of the event. The organizers event told me that I'm not allowed to participate because I'm not single aahaaha. But then I dragged my friend RG with me to have a coverage with me, but the organizers told me that they are 1 guy short for the whole dating activity, and I convinced RG to join in the dating game. Oh boy, RG is lucky during that night, dating 18 girls in one night ahhaah. I haven't done that before, but after my observation to all of them, it seems that speed dating is very tiring and if ever I tried it, I might end up quitting on the 5th girl. ( read more below) I enjoyed the red wine at Galileo Enoteca and felt a little warm after a few sips, I began taking photos til the last minute and end of the dating event.
The Italian made red wine kicks in and according to the bar tender, it is 12% proof and much stronger than San Mig Light. I stayed inside the bar and later on transfered in the two rooms were the speed dating is held.
here's my video coverage from the event
and below is my recorded tv clip from the Probe tv show, which they featured the speed dating event and interviewed the organizers and some daters.
After the speed dating, I got a conversation to 3 girls who were a participant of the speed dating event, and I asked them if they enjoyed it or what are their comments, they just shared to me that is is fun and not easy to start off a conversation, some guys are shy, while others are good in conversation. RG introduces to me with the girls and we shared everything on what we experienced that night, as a speed dating participant and me as an observer. Valuable lessons has been learned to each everyone is that "don't ever expect too much in a speed dating event", because it is just a game, a fun night meeting new people, and way of having new friends.
After the event, the organizers will check out on their rating card to see which of them are perfectly match for each other. Speed dating events occur not only in Valentines day, but it is mainly a game for all season.
