Cebu Pacific, the country’s leading low-cost carrier has finally declared which traveling tsinelas have gone the winning distance. Resty Uy, Michelle Kristine Salen, and Karen Gonzalez copped the top three prizes in the airline’s Wandering Juan photo contest, along with a roster of travel goodies.
With his entry of tsinelas illuminated by the sun setting on Coron’s pristine beach, Resty’s timeless photo bested hundreds of other entries and emerged the winner of the popular sights category. He will be fulfilling his travel dreams on board CEB as he is set to capture more memorable moments, this time in Singapore.

Resty is looking forward to his first overseas experience. “I’ve already been reading up on the Lion City, and I’ll be taking my mom along with me. It will be the first time for both of us to travel out of the country and I plan to experience Singapore’s culture, and visit its many interesting places.”

Karen topped the travelogue category with a series of photographs showcasing dynamic scenes of youth: from body-painted performers in a festival, children leaping for joy, to a kid wading through the sea with his tsinelas. Not only have her touching photographs proven she’s a true blue Wandering Juan, they’ve also earned for her an exciting trip to Kota Kinabalu.
On her part, Michelle clinched the top CEB prize in the people category with her inspiring photo of a young boy in mid-air with a pair of yellow slippers around his arms at the funeral march of the former president Cory Aquino. The picture-perfect shot gave Michelle the chance to visit Bangkok together with her parents. An avid traveler, she looks forward to adding Bangkok to her list of favorite hotspots, along with Hong Kong and some of the country’s most popular havens including Cebu and Palawan.
“I’m very flattered that I won. The Wandering Juan photo contest is really about inspiring people to take more photos of their trips so they get to make more memories,” she relates.

An ever wandering adventurer, Michelle takes her experience a notch higher with plans on capturing more memories in other destinations. “After Bangkok I really want to visit Korea and other countries, because there really are a lot of cultures to discover, new sights to see, and lot of unique things to experience.”
With the winning entries posted on the contest website WanderingJuan.com, everyone can join their journey and witness the many picture-perfect travel moments that other wandering Juans have experienced. Thanks to CEB’s lowest year-round fares and increasing number of destinations, Pinoy travelers are able to visit breathtaking places, just like Resty, Michelle, and Karen.
