I was here at the day 1 of the CAMPI 3rd Philippine International Motor Show, a 3 day motor show event from Aug19-22, 2010 at the World Trade Center. The event showcased a lot of famous car brands, SUVs, commercial vehicles and local auto manufacturers and distributors. I arrived at the event in the evening and missed all of the car launching and conference in the morning,our President and Vice President was also present that morning for the ribbon cutting, but I do saw lots of cool and hot cars that I first see here only at the motor show. And one of the great attraction here is that they have 2 TIGERS in cage with a KIA concept car.
The theme of this year's event is "Drive the Green Road", its the theme of CAMPI for their event and they want to promote public awareness on the motoring industry's initiatives to help achieve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. They feature and showcase cars with the latest green technologies in fuel efficiency like some hybrid cars, clean burning, diesel powered vehicles.

KIA Cadenza is production version of its KND-5 concept car, this is a luxury sedan with a sporty and sleek look and it features a bold headlamp design with attention grabbing LED surrounds, looks high tech with the look in the front and inside awesome futuristic floating dashboard highlights. It has heated steering wheel (for winter), powered extendable seat cushions, auto defogging of windshield, ventilated front seats.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG caught my eye few weeks ago when they did a launch in one of the car stores in EDSA, this car seems to pop out from the future and I really like the wing doors that swing open upwards.
Nissaan X-Trail CVT. I just heard about this car from a friend who works in a car magazine, he posted that he saw this car roaming in the road with lots of escort, and joke around that he could be the next car paparazzi. I like big vehicles and this one caught my attention, I was about to attend the launch of this and I know it will be for the X-trail. Accdg to Nissan, that this is the toughest and authentic SUV in their line up. It guarantees drivers to experience a smooth driving experience even on a challenging terrain. The Xtronic CVT provides a smooth gear change that suit the drivers need for more natural, powerful sentaion of acceleration, that equals to lesser fuel consumpton.
Toyota Alphard is the new addition to the Toyota car line up. I saw this vehicle on TV and as usual caught my eye as it was big and looks like it can fit many people inside, but in my closer look inside at the PIMS event, the Aphard is a luxury vehicle that can fit 4 people inside. Its a car with a really big body. okay, lets call it a mini van. It has a pretty sunroof, power back door, power captain seats with ottoman and foot rest and auto door closer. It looks like a spaceship for me with cool auto features. Price - 2.7 million pesos.
Toyota Hybrid X looks like came from the movie Judge Dredd, but as we see here, it is a concept car developed by Toyota, it is engineered to provide a multi sensory experience. I dont know yet if we can have this at an early stage, but the look is so sexy!
Hyndai concept car ix-METRO look is like from the movie Transformers, the front looks like the head of a Transformer robot and the body is so futuristic. Designed by the Hyundai's Global Team in Korea, and inspired from space travel, it has LED headlights, fang shaped foglamps, 3D digital display board, foldable rear seats, ultra thin digital side view cameras, with anti-lock braking system, can consume 3.3 liters for every 100km covered and emits 80 grams of carbon dioxide.

MiEV is an electric vehicle by Mitsibushi Motors, an environmentally friendly electric car based on the mini car sold in Japan. It has high capacity Lithium-ion batteries, each pack consists of 22 modules, and 4 cells per module. With a single charge it can cover a range of 160km. Charing time is around 7 hours.

Mitsubishi ASX is a sport vehicle with lots of power in it. The all-new ASX features the same 2.0-liter 4 In-Line DOHC MIVEC 4B11 Gasoline engine as the Lancer EX. This 4B11 engine produces a maximum power of 150 Ps / 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 197 N-m / 4,200 rpm while being mated to either INVECS-III Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-Speed Sportronic Mode or a 5-Speed Manual Transmission. The basic combination of these two components assures a much better fuel economy coupled with a very low emission level. As standard equipment, the magnesium alloy paddle shifters are equipped in the GLS SE and GLS CVT models.
Its suspension system is composed of a MacPherson strut coil spring with stabilizer on the front and a multi-link coil spring with stabilizer on the rear. Damping action has been refined further giving a tight reassuring feeling when pushed hard into corners but balanced enough to soak up the potholes. Thus its chassis assures a much improved and balanced riding comfort, even when driving alone or at full capacity.
The electronic power assisted rack and pinion steering mechanism is a first-time technology for Mitsubishi Motors and this provides a very light feeling when handling the steering wheel, even when turning to its tightest 5.3 meter-turning radius.
Also, another first in the line of automotive technology of Mitsubishi Motors is the introduction of an Engine Push Start System, for the CVT variants. This new feature enables the driver to easily start and stop the engine through the push of a button.
