TV: Weekday Laugh-offs and weekend sci-fi flicks on Cartoon Network this August

A freaky and sci fi-ish line up for Cartoon Network this August 2010,they will be showing our sci fi movies like Final Fantasy:Spirits Within, Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, Metropolis and Back to the Future 2, a sci fi movie treat every Saturday at 9pm, then August 13 will be a theme for an early Halloween movies like Monsters vs.Aliens: Mutant Pumpkin from Outer Space, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and many more. Don't also forget that Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Rise of the Bounty Hunters will start their season 2 this month.

Gear up for a viewing experience like no other as Cartoon Network dishes out fantastically funny weekday afternoons, freak fests and sci-fi adventure movies all this month! Kick start weekend adventures power-packed with space ships, aliens, time machines and mutant pumpkins from outer space.

Leading up to the weekend mania, kids can take part in some unbelievably funny adventures with Flapjack in The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, as he embarks on wild and strange journeys to become an adventurer and reach the fabled Candied Island. Or kids can also join the lava-surfing, irrepressible, thrill-seeking optimist Jimmy, his best pals Heloise and Beezy, as they make Miseryville not so miserable in Jimmy Two Shoes. The weekend fun starts as kids join the frontlines of exciting interplanetary combat decked with new characters, locations and creatures in the all-new season two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Rise of the Bounty Hunters. Fresh new episodes airing every Friday at 7:30 pm take viewers to an era of wartime turmoil in a galaxy made even more chaotic by skilled and ruthless bounty hunters, Cad Bane and Aurra Sing. Struggling to restore peace in the galaxy, the mighty Jedis take on these lawless rogues, but discover forbidden alliances and complex relationships along the way.

Kids should prepare to stretch the limits of their imagination with exciting adventure movies airing on Cartoon Network Popcorn every Friday at 9:00 pm. Join Alan Parrish and kids, Judy and Peter as they take on the most exciting board game of their lives – Jumanji – airing on August 6, 2010! With a roll of the dice, the mysterious board game takes its players from one adventure to another with the three reluctant players banding together to finish the game, before it finishes them. Then on August 20, 2010, catch the animated blockbuster hit, Robots and step into the metal shoes of young genius robot, Rodney Copperbottom who goes on an adventure to the city to help other robots.

And to celebrate the only Friday the 13th of 2010, Cartoon Network Not Quite Halloween Friday The 13th dishes out a special movie marathon of spookily funny movies from 7 pm until midnight. The adventures start with Susan Murphy and the rest of the Monsters as they save Halloween by battling aliens disguised as jack-o-lanterns in Monsters Vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins From Outer Space. Kids can then watch pest-controlling marvels, Wallace and Gromit take on a huge, mysterious, veg-ravaging "beast" who is wreaking havoc on their town’s sacred vegetable plots in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Out to bring more laughs and gasps are spook-filled specials such as Billy and Mandy’s Underfist Halloween Bash, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and The Wrath of the Spider Queen.

Plus kids can explore the fantastic world of science fiction with Cartoon Network Popcorn: Sci-Fi Saturdays at 9:00 pm every weekend in August. Take a trip through time and space, meet strange and deadly aliens and see how humanoid robots are helping mankind in the far future in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis and Back to the Future 2.
