my coverage: Cosplay battle at Elife Eton Cyberpod

P8211800
There was a cosplay event and contest few weeks ago inside Elife Eton Cyberpod Corinthian, that’s the new building with gaming and tech hub located in Ortigas Ave (infront of Robinsons Galeria). Anime fans went there to witness the final competition of their weekly event and contest for cosplay, I didn’t expected that that there will be giant robots and dead pop stars roaming the venue, okay I should clear that they are just fans in costumes and not real robots or dead pop star. The four week cosplay activity was called Cosplay Genre Wars, each weekend there will be a cosplay battle and contest with theme of anime, comics, video game and manga, it’s a battle of different genres in one event. Three winners were awarded in the finals and received P5,000, P10,000 and P15,000. (more below)

Here are the list of winners

Grand Winner: Guy Singzon as Spawn Mandarin
1st Runner Up: Abraham Cruz as Master Gundam
2nd Runner Up: Marx Ruloda as Batman Killgear

I roamed around the Elife building and saw some technology and IT related stores inside, at first I didn’t know that the building is a mall of tech and gadgets, although that some of the areas are not yet complete, I saw a series of activities happening inside, and the cosplay tournament is the first to have an event here, also every Saturday there are Magic the Gathering games happening in the basement, I just a hundreds of card gamers sitting head to head to other players and play Magic the Gathering games, there are also video game arcade station located below, for the list of stores, here’s what they have :

Villman Computers, Datablitz, Zoom Out, TCA, Net Gear, CDR King, Computechnologies, Fujifilm, Crown, PC on Demand, Platinum PC, Linkcity, Audiophile and Quantum Amusement

And fast food chains, such as:
Jollibee, KFC, Mang Inasal, Savory, Bargos Restaurant and Bar, Dunkin Donuts, Potato Corner and Yoshi’s

And service oriented stores:
Western Union, LBC, Stanford IT Learning Center, National Bookstore and the Philippine National Bank.

E-Life is open Mondays to Saturdays, 11am to 9pm.

This could be the next tech and gadget store, so be ready to check it out and I know Elife will be there to offer new and unique stores that can’t be found elsewhere. I might check this Elife from time to time if ever I’m in Ortigas, and I’m gonna check if the store space are much cheaper in Greenhills, I’m going to recommend this to our friends who runs toy shops who went out of Greenhills, I can predict that Elife will be the new hang out for geeks and hobbyist in the coming future.
