Photos: Baguio tree planting

I've participated last year in a tree planting project event by SM Baguio and SM Cares,  we went to Mt. Busol to plant more trees. I saw that the mountain is being save and it grows more new trees. 1-2 year old pine trees grow around 4 feet, so when we went there, I saw that there are many mini pine trees are being planted by local communities and volunteers.

Saw these photos at SM Supermalls' FB page and I like to share it here in my blog that the tree  planting project is still ongoing and active.

"Spearheading a 3-year project that aims to plant 50,000 trees around Baguio City, the SM Cares Program on Environment has worked closely with the DENR, SM Affiliates, Department of Education, Quezon Elementary School and the Dontogan Elementary School in planting more than 4,000 trees over the past rwo months.

In an inspiring act of community togetherness, students, soldiers, residents, local policemen and SM employees are working together to achieve the 50,000 mark, which 23, 757 trees have already been planted. All seedlings planted are monitoredjust over a year, we will get to experience a greener, cleaner, fresher Baguio sooner than expected."
