Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Comes to CASTLE GEEK with Comics for All Ages!
This year,
CASTLE GEEK, National Book Store and
Neutral Grounds join hands to bring you
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2013. Following this year’s theme
SETTING THE RECORD, the event hopes to set the most number of sketches on a blank cover comic, a record they hope to top year after year.
“We hope to achieve the largest gathering of Comic Book and Sketch Artists in the country to celebrate the art and culture of Comic Books” said Lawrence Sol Cruz, of CASTLE GEEK.
Aside from giving away thousands of free comics on that day, attendees are treated to various activities such as
Creator Signings,
Toys and Collectible Displays, and a showcase of local talent featuring their Independent Titles.
“We are proud to feature Filipino Artists and Comic Creators that do amazing work for the industry” says Miguel Ramos of National Book Store.
Year after year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading. It also raises awareness in the fight for illiteracy.
“It’s a great opportunity to introduce everyone to Pop Culture moulding creativity and giving inspiration to the kids of today” adds Neutral Ground’s Freddie Tan.
Comic Books have propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. The first weekend of May has been and will continue being a big day in the comic book world.
CASTLE GEEK is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 4th.
