Italian
food are so many and its hard to read and even remember those cuisine, because
its Italian, I just sometimes give them my own name for the food, or if ever I’m
in an Italian restaurant, I just dig my memory the last food that I have tried
before and will order it next. I heard of Amici back in the past with some of my
friends who studied in Don Bosco, but then I got a chance to try it when I got
invited to try it in one of their branch in QC and then a friend invited me to
try it also in SM Megamall branch of Amici. The best of Amici is that it is an
authentic Italian food with an awesome affordable price.
Pasta and pizza
are my top favorite food ever, and when I declare love for Italian food, I just
realized that I haven’t tried yet the best of the best of Italian cuisine and
also top fave food from Amici. I learned I’m just a newbie to food because its
hard to remember all those food names hahaha. Yeah I always laugh here whenever
I blog..hope you can bear with me.
Amici Italian restaurant also goes by
the name of Amici Di Don Bosco (Friends of Don Bosco) who started as a cafeteria
in Don Bosco Makati and founded by Fr. Gianluigi Colombo, a Salesian Italian
priest in-charge of overseeing the operations of the Don Bosco Makati Printing
Press. Then the Don Bosco management gave him a permission to convert the
cafeteria into a turo turo food joint ( turo turo means point, you point a
finger to a food and it means that’s your order) , then on 2001, the turo turo
joint is branched out of its name and became a legally established as a business
entity. Then on 2007, entrepreneur Danny Moran got a heads up from the Salesian
priests of Don Bosco, after several meetings and proposal…. it soon started the
birth of Amici as a restaurant that brought new food experience to us pinoys,
and this 2013 they are now celebrating their 6th year anniversary. (

Amici
also joined with Tuloy Foundation – here are some info --
A foundation to
help give street children that chance to succeed. By selecting special items
from the “Tuloy Speciali” Amici Menu, P10 will go directly to Tuloy Foundation
Inc. to help fund a special project of the foundation. Amici also supports the
programs of Tuloy as we continue to hire OJTs for our stores, kitchens and
engineering group from their culinary and engineering schools. Our employees
also visit Tuloy on a quarterly basis to spend time with the kids, play with
them and simply have fun.
From cafeteria to turo turo to restaurant.. Amici is well loved by many,
especially to those people who love pasta and pizza. Also in the past, I ‘ve met
Chef Giorgio Buciarelli and he told me that he started as a head chef before at
Amici, and then after some Google-fu, I found out that he is one of the pioneers
who started with the group in Amici. So that’s why the pizza so familiar when I
tried it in other resto, but hey! even if there are Amici clones in Manila, we
can see here that Amici’s food menu is brining new food concept for the Italian
food lovers.
So I tried…and tasted the new food of Amici, all I can say
is that…I should go back and order more.. Its so lovable and decliousosio! I
even want to cry after biting that pizza with truffles.
For
the new food of Amici, it was launched here in Amici Venice Piazza in Mckinley
Hills, I haven’t seen this resto before and its funny that it was there all the
time. I’ve been to Venice area so many times and I haven’t even noticed Amici
there.
I was having a nice lunch at a burger resto in the same area,
and then my wife called me to join with them , I ‘m glad that I didn’t refuse,
so I left the burger resto and headed to the 2nd floor of Amici.
