Last January 27th was the revelation of the official 40 candidates of the Bb. Pilipinas 2014, it was my first time to cover our official pageant that will represent our country for the Miss Universe 2014 and I’m very excited to be part of this amazing journey of 40 beautiful Bb. Pilipinas 2014 candidates, they will train hard and also participate in various activities conducted by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI), we’re going to wait for 2 more months for the grand coronation night this March 30, 2014 here in Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Me, as the blogger for this new blog series here in my blog – Azrael’s Merryland Blog, I will try my best to finish this series up to the grand coronation and also to the welcome parade of our next coming queen!
Thanks to Kath and Ada of Araneta’s marketing team for inviting me and Raffy to be part of the media coverage team. The presentation of candidates were held in Gloria Maris Banquet hall in Gateway Mall
Before I present the list of the 40 candidates, let me show you first some scenes I captured before the start of the event. Photo above is Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago. I noticed that she’s a media favorite that day, she accommodates lots of media interview during the event.
Madame Stella Marquez Araneta, the chairperson of the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. was there to greet us and also so busy doing her hands on work for the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 competition. She talked to me and asked me if I’m excited for this event, I told her that I’m super excited and also confident that we can win in the next Miss Universe, and also she talked to top pageant coverage bloggers at the back and they too said that they are confident that we might get the crown next. She said that we almost got all the titles,but only lack is the Miss Universe crown.
Before the presentation of the official 40 candidates, the organizers showed to us first the top 60 hopefuls who joined the screening and also audition. It was a 4 day screening that led them to select 76 candidates and then trimmed down to 60 and then the last is this big day to announce the top 40 candidates.

After the presentation of 60 hopefuls, the organizers invited Miss Supranational 2013 Johanna Datul and Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago to give rose flowers and welcome the top 40 candidates.
At this moment, it was like they won already, because being included in the top 40 means that you are officially a candidate for the Bb. Pilipinas 2014.
My camera lens just spotted a favorite candidate. The host of the event told me if ever I already chose my candidate to win the crown. I told him that all of them are so beautiful and its hard to choose or place a bet on who will stand out from the rest of 39 candidates. I told him that we saw their beauties already here at the presentation, and now I’m curious to see their attitude and also how we can compare beauty with brains. I know its an issue…but we pinoys want to have our Bb. Pilipinas with beauty, heart, soul and also brain.

Its too early to tell to join or create a campaign for them to win, but let’s see in the next roadshow if ever we can talk to them
