The Lopez Museum and Library would like to invite you to an afternoon with
filmmaker
Alvin Yapan as he talks about his art practice and his work in the
Propaganda exhibition, Ulang Palay, this
February 28, 2015, Saturday, 2 – 4 PM. Yapan will also give a preview of his new film, the first ten minutes of
An Kubo sa Kawayanan (The House by the Bamboo Grove).
A multi-awarded writer and filmmaker, Alvin Yapan is the creative genius behind the critically-acclaimed films,
Ang Panggagahasa kay Fe (Golden Award for Digital Films, 33rd Cairo International Film Festival; Ani ng Dangal Award, Office of the President of the Philippines),
Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa (Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay, 35th Gaward Urian Awards; Bronze Award, 28th Festival de Cine de Bogota),
Rolyo (Best Short Film, 3rd Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival), and
Debosyon. His literary works won in the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature (1997, 2002, 2003).
Registration fee for the lecture is Php 135.00 (students Php 115.00) and includes admission and a guided tour of the exhibition. Gourmet Farms, Inc. will also serve freshly brewed coffee during the lecture.
