This
morning, Starmobile launches their new quad core smartphones with DTV or Digital
TV, it’s the first line of Digital TV phones in the Philippines and this will
enable the smartphone receive digital tv signal and deliver a clear and crisp
color and also good audio quality of a tv channel. The new trend is here for
smartphones, the DTV tech on mobile devices is just in the right time after the
release of Digital TV signal few months ago by ABS CBN, selling their magic tv
box aka the ABS CBN TV Plus digital tv box. Then GMA and TV5 followed in
releasing their own digital signal. The evolution for TV is now here and mobile
device brands like Starmobile follows because RF signal will be obsolete anytime
soon.
Starmobile release 3 kinds of DTV phones that are DTV ready. Each
of them can stream DTV channels with the use of an antennae and also its tv
program app, the Starmobile DTV phones can also record the tv show when you want
it, you can play back and store those episodes in the DTV phone’s memory
card.

Hands
on test with the three Starmobile DTV Phones
Starmobile
UP Vision
At the demo booth, they showed to us the performance of their
DTV phones. According to a rep. from Starmobile, you need to program the DTV app
first to search for channels in your area. There are a total 18 local channels
that is now DTV ready. Mostly channels from ABS CBN. TV5 and GMA 7.
If
you have a ABS CBN TV Plus digital tv box, you know what I’m talking about.
The DTV phone is DTV ready and it can be used in other countries in
streaming their own DTV channels to your Starmobile DTV Phone. You just need to
program it and do a channel search via the DTV signal.
UP Vision and Knight Vision uses the retractable metallic antennae to catch DTV signals.
Starmobile
Knight Vision is one of my favorite, because it got a bigger screen from the two
DTV phones.
But….
Starmobile
UP Max is a battery superior from the other two, with a power battery of 5000
mah, you can watch DTV shows for a longer time.
It
got a funny antennae, converting the headphone jack into an antennae and also a
plug slot at the end of it.
It’s
the only Starmobile DTV phone model with a removable antennae.
You
can plug it whenever you want to watch a DTV and then remove it if you are done
watching a show.
Just make sure you will not loose it.
