Alcatel Flash 2 first appeared here in Manila last Sept 22 for their regional launch and also being the first in the world to spill about the specs and its camera features. For the new model Alcatel Flash 2, they sell more about their new camera tech to introduce the mobigraphy trend.
I got a chance to play with the Alcatel Flash 2 for one week, and I can say that I really enjoyed using it and it suddenly beaten two powerful smartphones that I have that I usually use when it comes to mobile phone photography.

THE REAR CAMERA
The rear camera comes with a gSight camera tech, and with 13MP, 2.0 aperture, 0.3s PDAF, ISOCELL Sensor, Realtone Flash and a 90 degrees wide angle. The camera can be set to manual settings if you want a more DSLR like setting.
Alcatel Flash 2 sells the phone by its great camera performance. Here I did some series of photo samples when I went around in Manila and also in Boracay. The auto focus is fast as soon as I point the phone to any subject, by clicking the shutter button, from the screen or the special shutter button at the side of the phone, the Alcatel Flash 2 can beat the point and shoot camera when it comes to fast focus and also shutter.
It performs even better in outdoors, indoors and low light conditions.
During dark conditions, I use the Realtone Flash from the rear and Im satisfied on how it balances the colors, no red eye and no over exposure result
THE FRONT CAMERA
The front camera with just a 5 MP, is already doing a good job when capturing selfies and group shots. The auto focus response is so quick and it can focus too when you are in low light conditions.
The gsight and camera processor in Alcatel Flash 2 is a good tech bundle. There will be no more delays when taking quick selfie shots.
THE SCREENI mentioned in my first blog post about Alcatel Flash 2, if this new unit is built with a 5.5 inches screen display then it will be such a glorious phone, because Im a fan of bigger screens and I enjoy it using for digital entertainment and also social media.
But there are cons when the phone is equipped with a bigger screen, its hard to insert it in your pocket, hard to handle and also prone to accidental slips. For the Alcatel Flash 2 with 5” IPS HD with Miravision, size at 5 inches is the okay standard for smartphones, it is built perfectly to our hand and its easy to hold and operate it with just one hand.
For the screen performance, its good and I have no problems with it. Loading some graphics, video content, game that uses 3D, and photo from the phone – displays as fluid, clear and vivid with the right colors.
Screen display can set auto brightness during direct sunlight or bright environments.
THE BACK CASEI think Alcatel Flash 2 is moving away from smooth back casing. This time, they added a rough grip on the back case of their new phone. The rough grip will add more grip to the user’s hand and also it wont slip and even if you place it on top of a table or dashboard of your car, the phone will not slide down or experience an accidental slip, because the rough grip at the back will always stay on your hand.
PROCESSORIt’s powered by a 64-bit Octa-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6753 Processor with 2GB LPDDR3 SDRAM and Mali-T720MP4 GPU.
I wont even complain why it is so fast hahahah. I did a series of multi tasking with the phone by launching several apps and also play some games from time to time, I don’t even do a memory flush just to run another app. Im good with this specs and it didn’t give me any sluggish moments in using the Alcatel Flash 2.
Also…I love the loud speaker at the back of the phone, more entertaining experience during playing movies, music or games.
I like the metallic edges, it displays a more stylish and professional looking style.
I just cant stop using it… Im very satisfied with its fast processor, screen, size of the phone and other upgraded specs.
The camera is also a winner for Alcatel Flash 2.
This is the only phone model that brought my faith back to Alcatel. The phone brand is my first ever mobile phone ever in my life and I waited for years for them to perfect their smartphone model, and this Alcatel Flash 2 is a proof that they brought a much superior kind of smartphone. It doesn’t have any mumbo jumbo add ons or features that we really don’t need. People use the phone for communication, entertainment, internet and also camera. Alcatel focuses on what we really need and Im impressed that this phone really gave what we want.
For a pricing of PHP6190 and it was mentioned that this will be an exclusive product to be sold only in Lazada and the only Alcatel phone to be sold online, I can say that the price is a super good deal, if you want a phone that matches the features you need.
