AksyonTV is out, 5 Plus is in! as new channel for sports, e-sports, action and adventure shows

AksyonTV will be replaced by a 5 Plus, a new action channel that targets the young audiences, it will carry mainstream and non mainstream sports show and coverage, e-sports or gaming, action and adventure content, X-games, fight sports, WWE, ESPN sports and many more.

5 Plus is set to launch this January 13, 2019 and this will set it as TV5’s secondary channel.

“We are excited to start the new year with the launch of 5 Plus. The intent was to create a home for what we call atypical sports – titles with a highly engaged audience base that don’t typically receive visibility of this scale. Expanding our sports coverage also enables us to attract a new audience: the younger sports fan. 5 Plus aims to serve content that resonates with the pace of their active lifestyle, and is in line with their varied interests. The combination of both 5 and 5 Plus allows us to cement and expand further our foothold in sports.”
- Vincent P. Reyes, President and CEO of TV5

5 Plus is set to air coverages and news for the upcoming biggest international esports tournament -- The Nationals, a national tournament aka as the PBA of esports in the Philippines featuring games  - Dota 2, Mobile Legend and Tekken.

The NBTC or the National Basketball Training Center League and The NCC or The National Cheerleading Championship news and coverages are set to air also at 5 Plus.

Radyo5 news programs airing on AksyonTV will be transferred to its new home via CIGNAL.

Expect a big change and transition for 5 Plus, as it will bring a much more millennial-centric type of content, all direction will be changed from visuals, to music and up to the face of sports casters and host of each shows.

We got dibs also from the presscon that 5 Plus is set to air also the upcoming match of Pacquiao vs. Broner this coming January 19, 2019.

5 Plus live stream and digital content will be available also on social media and at TV5 website - www.tv5.com.ph
