A close up look of the new Manila Bay shore

All eyes are now looking at the Manila Bay, after the 5 month Boracay major clean up and rehab, the Manila Bay was next to go under rehab and recovery, the bay will go back to its normal health after 10 years as expert say, thank goodness that our attention is now to fix the water way and sewerage of Manila and nearby cities, because all dirty water and trash are being dump here at Manila Bay.

The great news is that the contamination starts to go lower, from billions and now at million MPN coliform levels, its a long way to go, but there’s prediction already that coliform level will reach 270 MPN at the end of the year if rehab and sewer fix is done right.

I went to Manila Bay to see it myself, I went there to take photos and do vlog and observe why people love to go here to have a picnic, have a swim even if the water is not safe, and why the golden sunset is so beautiful here every day.

I noticed lots of kids and teens love to swim at the Manila Bay, they seem to enjoy swimming in the germ infested water, but they didn’t mind, they say that they sometimes swim in the dirty water of Pasig River, and they are always fine. They didn’t mind the advice and blockade of the PNP police, the kids still go back to the water after the PNP police on duty went away.

Our DENR and local government of Manila worked together in placing barricade to keep the public away from shores in order to give way for more rehab and recovery of Manila Bay, and then that afternoon they placed a banner sign to inform the public that swimming in Manila is temporarily not allowed.

I met some kids who are enjoying the sun and Manila Bay, I shared some stories that during my youngling years back in the 80’s, the Manila Bay is clean and its safe for swimming, I told them that our swimming spot back then is at the CCP area and at the place where Manila Ocean Park is located. Back then, that area is a park and a playground that’s why its easy to access it for swimming.

I can see through the eyes of the kids of Manila Bay imagining the story that I shared to them, now they hope that the Manila Bay will be cleaner and Im impressed that they are now aware that we need to save it and not throw trash into the Manila Bay.

Im excited for the next result, I hope everyone can follow the rules of our government, not to throw trash into the river or ocean, and also the local establishment near the bay have the time to fix their water treatment and disposal.

Im going to visit you soon, Manila Bay, maybe around October or November.
To all clean up volunteers, and people involved for the major clean up… thank you so much!!!!
