Thor, Capt America classic and Nick Fury joins Marvel Universe toyline

I think this is the big sign for me to join the bandwagon in collecting 3.75" toy line of Marvel Universe. It seems that this will be the new replacement of toy scale after Marvel Legends, not too pricey and its easy to store and collect. I'm already 3-4 months late if I'm going to start collecting the small GI JOE scale size figure, but It's fun and easy to play small figures, although that the figure details are not clean and accurate, but we can say that "pwede na" to the small scale toy line.  Hasbro did a fine job here, and we know that the recession is still active, using less plastic and paint results to affordable price of the toy.

Nick Fury is now having a MU toy line, the sad part is, the figure is exclusive to be given FREE to subscribers of Marvel's digital comics. The figure includes anti-Skrull gun rifles.

And for the new wave, Marvel releases images for the 2010 toy line of MU. featuring Classic Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Luke Cage. ( more pics below)

Looking at some toy display cabinets

PC258612
I'm planning now to fix and re-arrange my toys inside the display cabinet, and because of more toys are coming in, the cabinet is starting to crowded and full of toys, collectibles are increasing so fast and also my fast food toys from Jollibee are too many already, so my plan for the start of the year is to re-arrange and and expand my toy display cabinet, but the problem is that I don't live in my own house, the expansion of the display is impossible, so my plan is to keep other collectibles and display the new and bigger toys.

I research online via flickr and other sites and saw other collector's style in displaying their collectibles in different toy cabinets, loose and mint in box figures are inside and how they manage to store those big toys and boxes. I want to have strobe light installed in my cabinet, but i'm afraid that the light can damage more on the toy's paint and i don't want to keep the light open 24 hours a day, so my plan is try my best on how to expand it inside the room.

Call of Duty : Roads to Victory PSP game

TP_PSPCOVERSHEET_806_BOBr4
I'm now playing this FPS (first person shooter) game in my PSP, although the game is already 2 years old, I didn't think twice and because I'm a Call of Duty game fan and need to play all kinds of versions. I started playing this in the Nintendo Wii and it drive me crazy and screaming while I got scared to face some German soldiers, there are new games like the Modern Warfare for PC, but I'm waiting to have my own Wii game in the future, but for now, let's play and shoot like soldier here in mg PSP. I can bring it anywhere and shoot enemy soldiers on my way home.

Many people say that this game sucks, but I still like it and you won't say something bad if you are a fan, at least try it and you know that the graphics and design for the PSP is not actually the same for PC and gaming consoles. The game is much similar in our game consoles, be a soldier, practice shooting, start the mission, finish the objective of the mission, protect your comrades, capture enemy bases. But here in the PSP there are new stuff to see and play like you can play different allies, after USA, you can play under Canada and then British. (read more below)

call of duty roads to victory caps 1

The most enjoyable part of the game is using those machine guns while you are onboard a bomber plane, it was like Star Wars meets Sky Destroyer, your commander will instruct you on where you can position yourself as a nose gunner, belly gunner and tail gunner, then get busy shooting enemy war planes coming in your way and then protect your co-bomber in getting hit as your mission is to bomb an area of the enemy.

call of duty roads to victory 3
the control of the game in the PSP is difficult at the start, but you can get use to it after a few hours, but this game needs a lot of experience in using lots of PSP buttons, as you might get lost on the way and press the wrong button, you can customize your buttons in the option menu. Targeting is in automatic, you can stride and place the target tracker into the enemy and it will automatically lock it for you.

call of duty roads to victory 2
weapons are still the same, you can grab weapons from dead enemies and use it, sniper rifle is still the best weapon, and on the game I haven't encountered yet the super machine gun just like in Wii.

The game is not built for popularity in graphics or effects, but the game is built for FPS and call of duty fans.

Blue Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse of January 1, 2010 (Philippines)

blue moon of 2010
Everyone got confused days ago about the news of this so called Blue Moon, everyone thought that the moon will turn color blue. I'm monitoring the news few days ago and got this photo of the Blue moon that occurred on December 31, 2009 and January 1, 2010. December 2009 and January 2010 will have 2 full moon in a month, they call it Blue Moon because it is very rare to have 2 full moon in one month. There are some explanations here in this news Celestial rarity: 2 blue moons for RP in 2010

There is a possibility that the moon can be colored blue, the case will be, if a volcanic dust covered the moon during a volcanic eruption. But to other countries, the Blue Moon is colored Orange.

I used my Olymupus E520 dslr with 40-150mm lenses.

But we have two heavenly bodies event that hour of New Year's Eve, we also have the Partial lunar eclipse of our moon, which the small shadow of the Earth will cover some parts of our moon. I was planning to have a photo of it this morning at 3am, but decided to sleep after our New Years party, there are lots of firecrackers and rocket fire crackers in our area, it's dangerous to go outside in that hour. But I'm glad that my friend Ronald Guanzon took a photo of the partial lunar eclipse event. (check the lunar photo below)

Paskuhan 2009 at Sampaloc, Quezon

PC268658
A 5 hour travel ride by land and another food tripping event only in our province of Sampaloc, Quezon. As they say the place is the stuff of legend and mystery as the unexplained elements are still present till now, but as the year goes by, the mighty mystery town of Sampaloc, Quezon is changing too. Every year and everytime I visit our province, I can see lots of changes already, the road is getting wider, rough road is now a hard cemented and smooth road, the Madilim road (also known as the ghostly place in the middle of the road mountain) is already gone, but the watery mountain side or mini falls is still there but a little bit abused during the construction, the church changed and the church officials already removed that old wall painting of Jesus and replaced by a crucified wooden statue version (totally sucks, with all bloodied wtf), they installed a gate all over the church blocking the main road going to the patio, installed a bust statue of Enverga infront of the gate of Enverga Academy and many more. the Sucat food trip

SAM-3757
We celebrate Christmas with our family, but sometimes we think that we need to celebrate it with our friends and barkada, and this is to organize a general meet up and reunion with our college barkada or tropa, to have a get together food trip in one table and munch some good food while we exchange different stories and updates in our life. I remember me and some of my buddies always organize a get together after the holiday event, a big bottle of Red Horse beer and some pulutan always save the day and go home with lots of laughter and hugs to each other after bringing back those funny old memories back in highschool or college.

And because all of my tropas and new tropas are busy in their family and other activities (toys hahaha), I'm glad that Lace and her DLSU college friends organized a get together few days ago and the host will be their friend Thill who lives in Sucat and their family owns and manage the Trinity Ihaw Ihaw and Food House, which is one of the famous dampa restos in Manila, now have their new branch in SM MOA at the San Miguel Park by the bay. Everyone got excited, me, Lace and the baby ahaah after hearing that they will serve good food for all of us, thanks to Lian for organizing and did a round up of phone calls.  At the night of the dinner party, we are so excited to to eat those food. Thill prepared lots of food. Food in the left, to the right, to the front and they transformed our Sorbeteros cheese flavored ice cream into a wonderful dessert, Lace enjoyed eating the ice cream we bought in 711 nearby and then Thill added some banana with sweet syrups and that malutong na turon skin.

SAM-3733
It was night of bringing back college memories, I'm glad that I can relate a little, because I usually get updated or sometimes I'm there during their college days, I even heard that our favorite pasta hang out near DLSU, "House Blend" is already closed, and then there we share our views and some observation of the big change in DLSU, they now are open to all students to wear clothes and they have uplifted the ban of short shorts and skirts. I automatically say wow that DLSU allow now pek pek shorts... wow!

so at the dinner table, we have these yummy food. (read more below)

IBM Reveals Five Innovations that Will Change Cities in the Next Five Years

This is a wow factor for a city to be so high tech, talk about building with AI and using new tech in helping the people in the city to fight contagious diseases and like a panic button to respond a city to a coming crisis.

Quezon City, Philippines - 28 Dec 2009: IBM (NYSE: IBM) recently unveiled a list of innovations that have the potential to change how people live, work and play in cities around the globe over the next five to ten years:

· Cities will have healthier immune systems

· City buildings will sense and respond like living organisms

· Cars and city buses will run on empty

· Smarter systems will quench cities’ thirst for water and save energy

· Cities will respond to a crisis -- even before receiving an emergency phone call

An estimated 60 million people are moving to cities and urban areas each year – more than one million every week. The fourth-annual “IBM Next 5 in 5” focuses on cities because the world is experiencing unprecedented urbanization. Last year, our planet reached an important milestone - for the first time in history, the majority of the world’s population resided in cities.

IBM’s Next 5 in 5 is based on market and societal trends expected to transform cities, as well as emerging technologies from IBM’s labs around the world that have the potential to turn these predictions into reality.

Cities must simultaneously address increasing populations and deteriorating infrastructure. IBM is already working with cities around the world to make them smarter so they can sustain growth. In the next five years, by infusing intelligence into cities, they will change in the following ways: (read more below)

DOT raises concern over Boracay Island West Cove Resort FLAGT

It was an issue months ago and DENR Atienza should look at it first before signing anything. I saw this last November during my trip to Boracay and the resort already destroyed some parts of the rocky mountain and also coral reefs in Boracay, building an island within an island and building an island after an island is not good for the environment. This resort is also known as the Manny Pacquiao resort, but not owned by Pacman. Read the full info below.

Boracay Westcove construction

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has raised concerns over the recently signed Forest Land Use Agreement for Tourism Proposes (FLAGT) between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Boracay Island West Cove Resort in Boracay.

Tourism Secretary Ace Durano said, “The Comprehensive Land Use Plan for Boracay Island, adopted by the Municipal Government, indicates that the island is prone to geologic hazard where any development should be preceded by a thorough geotechnical study of the project site.”

The DENR inked the Forest Land Use Agreement for Tourism Purposes (FLAG-T), granting a 25-year land lease to the Boracay West Cove Resort, which is situated at Sitio Diniwid, Barangay Balabag, Boracay Island. The resort’s land area covers part of no-build zones, as surveyed in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP).  (Read more below)

Enchanted Kingdom (EK), the country’s first and only world-class theme park, continues to thrill Park goers this holiday season with the launch of its newest ride, the Space Shuttle Max.

Over the past 14 years, the Space Shuttle became an icon for Enchanted Kingdom. Countless guests have gone through its spine-tingling loops and jaw-dropping speed as it created unique and memorable experiences for the guests with every cycle. The number of years of operation, however, had taken its toll on the ride and by the end of last summer, the attraction necessitated a major upgrade so that it can be good as new and even better!
