Solar Eclipse on January 15, 2010 in Manila, Philippines


Let's hope for a clear sky tomorrow. Time to gear up and witness the 1st solar eclipse of 2010. Thanks to the PhilAstronomical Society for sharing some infos and schedule of the eclipse.

here are some info from PAGASA:

An annular solar eclipse will occur on 15 January 2010 and will be the  longest solar eclipse in duration since 1992. This eclipse will be visible from a track that goes across central Africa, the Indian Ocean and eastern
Asia. The maximum eclipse occurs in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but  the annular phase will still be seen from either Africa or Asia.

In the Philippines, the event will be observed as a partial solar eclipse.  Table 1 represents eclipse data pertaining to various selected places in  the Philippines.
