The Church of Patricinio de Maria in Boljoon was declared by the National Historical Institute as a National Historical Landmark and by the National Museum as a National Cultural Treasure. Would you believe that the town locals are doing something to save the old church and they created the Boljoon Heritage Foundation just to help restore the church using its original style and materials.The Church of Patricinio de Maria was established on 1599, the church has two gates and also a separate bell tower that serves as a watch tower for incoming ships, as you see that the church face infront of the sea. The roof the church is originally made of tiles, but then it was damaged and the locals replaced the tiles with bricks.
