I got lucky to check out the new hotel branch of Tune Hotels here in Manila, and the new and 6th hotel branch of Tune Hotels with 140 rooms is located in 100 Timog Ave. Quezon City, it’s a few blocks away from the MRT Kamuning Station and GMA network, consider it as the main landmark if you want to know where it is located. I became a fan of Tune Hotels after I tried staying for 4 days in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia few weeks ago (you can read my story here)
(above: thanks to Mirabel and Andrea for touring me around)
I learned that Tune Hotels here in our country is operated and handled by Red Planet Hotels, and they own several branches around the South East Asian Region, that includes Tune Hotels branches here in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and coming soon in South Korea and Taiwan. After the opening of Tune Hotels Quezon City, they will open more new branches in Davao and Ortigas (opens on Nov 2013), also in Aseana City on April 2014 and Ayala Avenue of May 2014. Other Philippine branches that are open includes Tune Hotels in Cebu, Makati, Ermita, CDO and the 1st branch in Angeles City. Tune Hotels is known for the success of being the low cost hotel with many branches around the world, they are also know for the pay as you go and pay as you use hotel, means that you pay for what you need, you can rent the aircon, tv and towels for your stay, or you can also remove that hotel elements if you don’t need it. (hotel stay is around Php500+ up and the add ons are Php 520 only)
PROMO OFFER: They are having a promo now were you can get an overnight stay for Php 1,208 til November 9,2013, that includes the add ons.I also got tips that booking via online is much cheaper that checking in via walk ins. So better try booking online to save time and also money.
“We have always had a firm commitment to the Philippines in terms of our overall investment as we have always had a firm belief in the country’s travel sector and the ability of our entire Philippines team to deliver on our service and standard obligations, It has been testament to the success of our first five hotels in the country that we stand here today as the largest international hotel owner and operator in the Philippines and that success has further fuelled our desire to have even more hotels here, with four more opening in the coming months.
“These are exciting times for Tune Hotels and to have such a close working relationship with their team as their largest franchise partner enables Red Planet Hotels to take the brand to new countries and further cement the beneficial partnership we have established,
We are proud of our significant achievement in the Philippines, and with more Tune hotels to come, both in that country, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan under Red Planet Hotels’ ownership and management, we are very much looking forward to securing the brand’s position as Asia’s leading value-for-money accommodation." -- Red Planet Hotels Chief Executive Officer, Tim Hansing
That’s me inside the Double room at Tune Hotels QC.
I got a quick chat with Mr. Tim Hansing, CEO of Red Planet Hotels, I gave a comment that the room design, bed and fixtures of Tune Hotels QC branch is much more better than the version in KL, Malaysia, the room is big and the bed is much lower and compact. Mr. Tim said that the branch in KL are newly renovated, but here in Manila, they gave a much new design to the room to add more comfort for hotel guest. I’m super excited to try this hotel in QC, although that they don’t have yet any convenience store or food court at the lobby, the room is big but there’s no food station available yet, but I was told that there will be plans in the future for a food venue for hotel guests. I think if they add a new floor or if there’s an available space, they can put up a nice eatery or food joint for us hotel goers.
Here’s Carlo, the marketing guy for Tune Hotels here in the Philippines
There’s no convenience store yet in Tune Hotels QC, but their front desk has a small store that sells toiletries, snacks and some personal items. Tune Hotels merchandise is also available here.
I got one of that pillow that converts into a blanket.
The best part here is that there’s a taxi bay in Tune Hotels QC. No need to go outside of the hotel to fetch a taxi cab.
The building that housed the 140 rooms of Tune Hotels QC.
Me infront of Tune Hotels…. taking a pic outside because I arrived late hahaha.
The front desk.
Red Planet Hotel organized a guided tour at the 4th level for us to see the new room and the service of Tune Hotels,as of that day there are people checked in, so they reserved the entire floor for the try and see of the rooms with hotel guests.
At the 4th level
My first visit is at room 401
This is a special room designed for PWD, and Tune Hotels QC provides a room for PWD in each floor.
the room hallway and the keycard dock for electricity and aircon control
The bathroom – with hand rails for PWD
handrails in every corner
selfie time!!!!! one of my tradition for a hotel feature in my blog hehehe
reflections… that’s the mirror reflecting the bed, btw, I’m showing here the hair dryer which is located at the bed room area, usually, the hair dryers are at the bathroom or kept in a drawer.
Here’s the bed
in this PWD designed room, the bed room is much wider and a big, that’s for the PWD with wheelchair that can fit inside the room and also to the bathroom
I love the collapsible table panels, I also encountered this in Tune Hotels in Malaysia, but the table here is much nicer and easy to pull out.
spotted: all in one charger and the vault
The ceiling fan is also much better here in QC, I think they brought lots of new upgrades in every new developed Tune Hotels. Each room is equipped with 24 inches LCD TV with cable.
Wall type aircon and an ad that will tempt you to book a flight and try other Tune Hotels in other parts of the world hahaha – that one is at Melbourne, Aus.
Next tour is at room 402
The room lobby and the keycard dock
The bathroom
Double bed
My view as soon as I stepped inside the room. You have the option here to use the aircon or the ceiling fan
and final tour at room 403
keycard lock and the bathroom
The shower here in Manila is equipped with rain fall effect showers…. those are my favorites
each room has a fire exit floor map / and that’s the hair dryer located inside the bed room.
The bed…
This room is also got a connecting room
A room that connects to another room, and here’s a twin bed, the space and size of the bed is bit bigger though.
Thanks Tune Hotels QC… see you soon!
Thailand….you are next!!
