We tried a new dinner set that evening in Xin Wang Hong Kong Café in SM MOA, my plan is to order some noodles and that baked rice, but my taste buds started to imagine a taste of some braised beef after I read their menu and that rice meal in a bamboo stem.
I know that the bamboo stem is just for show and the food are not entirely cooked inside the bamboo, but I noticed that the bamboo is helpful to keep the food warm for longer time. Now I understand that bamboo is one of the tree of life and for survival, because many people uses the bamboo stem as their water jug and also use it to cook plain rice. Its a good heat insulator and it doesn't break down easily.
Here in Xin Wang, our braised beef with rice is served inside a bamboo stem.

If you want your meal to cool down, just grab some meat and rice and place it on your plate. I want to try eat the beef and rice while inside the bamboo, but the bamboo warms them more and it seems that it will not cool down.
Til the end of September, you can still try to taste their International Food Festival, Xin Wang special is a fried noodles. I want to try it but its sounded a common meal.
