I
can’t believe that this toy and books donation drive is already 20 years old,
and we thank Aga Muhlach for organizing this donation drive campaign during his
time on tv 20 years ago. According to Aga, it all started when he organized a
live stage sitcom of Oki Doki Dok tv series, it was aired live on tv, but the
performance of the actors are on live stage. Proceed from the entrance fee were
donated to people who needs it and after that, Jollibee comes in to help Aga to
power up what he started.
Every year, Jollibee organizes a donation drive
campaign in every branches of Jollibee nationwide. They invite people and kids
to donate old books and toys in every branches during the Christmas season. The
donated items will be turn over to the beneficiary – mainly kids.
But
through the years, I've learned from Jollibee’s VP for Marketing Harvey Ong,
that the Maaga ang Pasko transitioned not only for the Christmas season but also
can be activated when it is needed, just like what they did during the Ondoy and
Yolanda typhoon, Maaga ang Pasko was activated after the devastation of the
typhoons and they dubbed it as “Mas-maaga ang Pasko sa Jollibee”, they invite
people to donate relief goods and clothes for the victims of the typhoons. Then
Harvey gave a teaser that they are doing something new to rename the activated
donation drive, could be another foundation or maybe a campaign similar to Maaga
ang Pasko.
The
toys and books donation drive of Maaga ang Pasko sa Jollibee already started
since last week. Donation boxes are now visible in every branches of Jollibee.
You can visit any branch and you can put your donation there. They advice that
you donate toys and books that can be re-used again, and don’t donate toys that
are broken and books should be neat and clean.
It was a three day launch
series for the North and South of Luzon. The Maaga ang Pasko donation drive was
formally launched at Jollibee Greenmeadows in Quezon City. As an advance
thank-you gesture to donors, Jollibee had The Voice Kids winners and new
Jollibee Kids Club endorsers, Lyca Gairanod, Darlene Vibares and Juan Karlos
Labajo, wow the crowd with their singing prowess. The campaign also kicked-off
in North Luzon with teen idol and Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Yum endorser Nadine
Lustre, singing her heart out with the talented members of the choir.
For
the south launching, the event was held here in Jollibee Canlubang, Laguna.
Lumen Anima Chorale was there singing various Christmas song and also the theme
song of Maaga ang Pasko sa Jollibee.
To
mark the campaign’s milestone 20
th year, Jollibee will be holding a
record 20 caravans across the country this December wherein they will be
distributing the toys and books collected from customers and JFC employees to
select beneficiaries.
Make this year’s Christmas season the jolliest ever for children across the
nation by donating new or pre-loved toys and books to Maaga ang Pasko boxes
located in all Jollibee stores nationwide. To make an online donation, visit

Mommy
Levy donated some toys
Me
and Ashton donated his old toys too. I picked up a Sponge Bob doll and some toy
cars and trucks. I also found some brand new teddy bears in our toy stock room.
I grabbed them all and placed in a red eco bag. I hope the kids will love
this…next time.. I will put a note to remind the kids to take care of these
toys.
