Its
my first time here in Cue Modern BBQ, from the title of this restaurant, you can
tell that they serve heavy meat, pork and lots of grilled goodies. The term cue
or BBQ will ring a bell for heavy meat eaters’ ear because the food concept here
is inspired from Southern American cuisine. It can be spicy, chili, or meaty,
that’s one of the iconic flavors of a Latin and Southern American style. I was
thinking of a Cajun style, but Southern is always the best!
The thing
that I like here in Cue Modern BBQ are their cocktail drinks, their mix and
formula for alcohol based drinks are for the friendly kind. Yes, the drink can
betray you if you paired it with a wrong meal. But I learned that pairing a
good cocktail with a hot pork belly tips is one heavenly experience. Try it here
in Cue Modern BBQ and see if you get tickled.
I
thought that this resto is an import from another country, but I learned that
it’s a new resto developed by Moment Group of restos.
if you are looking
for a place to get a good drink, then this is a perfect spot for you to enjoy
even if its not a happy hour.
here are the food that we tried here in
Cue Modern BBQ
Hot
pork belly tips
PHP 245
”Dijon-honey and bourbon char siu BBQ
dips”
I tried to stay away from this porky belly tip, but its so tempting
to pinch this pork belly with my fork, its so yummy soft from the inside and
crispy from the outside. You can choose three kinds of dip to add more flavor to
your pork belly. I always choose the bbq sauce, they are always the best!
Campfire-style
skillet of cueso fundido
PHP 190
White cheddar, chorizo, cilantro, red
tomatoes and flour tortillas
Southern American are an expert when it
comes to queso fundidos. I also love to eat a kind of food from the South
Amercia and Cue’s style is a bit close from the original fundidos. The chorizo
meat added some spice kick after a bit of that tortilla with super melted
cheese.
I admit.. super bitin..pero yummy!
Cocktail
concepts were introduced to us here in Cue Modern BBQ, I didn’t get the right
story when they presented this two drinks to us. All I know is that they
developed this Bonifacio Sour cocktail drinks only for this resto.
I
Sweet Soul Picnic
PHP 225
”Sauza Tequila Gold, fresh
watermelon, cardamom agave, fernet branca. Served on the rocks”
Bonifacio
Sour
PHP 295
”Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon, kalamansi, egg white and
red wine float. Served short”
take note… the Bonifacio Sour is the
best….super strong and a good pair with a porky meat.
