Its
been a long long long time since I posted a review, feature and unboxing of a
Kata Digital smartphone, I already forgot about it because I super enjoyed using
their new smartphone model – the Kata i4. It’s a new model that surpasses the
other models of Kata smartphones. I’m very happy with the new features, add ons
and the quality of the entire smartphone body. I thought that my Kata M1 will
remain as my Kata champion, but I just can’t believe that I enjoyed using the
Kata i4 more and not the Kata M1.. why?
Because, the Kata i4 got a brand
new specs that we are waiting for.. a 1.7ghz Octa Core processor engine!!!
finally! Thanks to Kata Digital for listening to their user’s request, I’m sure
that Kata Digital will embed more great features in the next coming model, but
for the Kata i4’s new spec, I am so sold and I am very satisfied with
it.
Octa Cores are a big thing since last last year, and many smartphone
brands shifts to this processor because it performs better and faster for
gaming, multi tasking and also mobile internet.
Today, Kata i4 is now
being sold at a SRP of PHP 9,799 and it comes with a FREE power bank.

NEW FEATURES:
Metallic alloy
body
The best evolution for Kata is that they finally solve the bend
problems of a smartphone, plus they made a very durable metallic alloy body for
the Kata i4 to protect the smartphone’s parts, battery and also to survive any
accidental falls and dents.
I’m sure that the Kata i4 can take a lot of
beating before you can break it.
Screen
with Dragon Trail Glass
The screen is now under the protection of a Dragon Trail Glass..isn’t that awesome!!! No worries for scratches, breaks
and even disfiguration of the screen. Thanks to the metallic alloy body to add
more durability of the Kata i4 smartphone
Gorilla glass corning for the camera cover
For maximum protection of the camera lens with 16MP
NFC
connectivity
Yes!! NFC, that’s Near Field Communication, a feature that
can communicate with another device by tapping the phone to it. Its like
scanning or tapping your MRT card to the MRT machine.
As of now, I’m not
sure how I can use this because not all of my friends are using a smartphone
with NFC. I will have to research and see how I can benefit from this
NFC.
Micro
Sim tray
Ohh that’s very familiar. My iPhone4s got that feature too!!!
When I saw this feature, I know that Kata i4 want to make sure there’s a way to
insert the sim on a non removable body cover of a smartphone. With this sim tray
feature, the sim will be protected and secured.
Black
anti smudge and smooth back body cover
I’m glad that Kata Digital no
longer uses those rough edges and funky design for the cover. Like in Kata M2,
It was so rough and also tough, that it can damage the surface of other
smartphones when you insert them both inside your pocket. We don’t want that
feature, but for the Kata i4, they now use a smooth black plastic-like cover, I
call it anti smudge because it doesn’t capture any finger print whenever I use
it.
UNBOXING
The

Kata
i4 revealed!!!
Inside
the box
(sorry guys, I forgot to include the power charger)
Now
it comes with a warranty card on a PVC ID card
I’m
sure you won’t misplace this, just keep it in your wallet or keep it inside the
box.

sleek
look and design
its
weird that some of my friends thought that I’m using an LG, Sony or Asus
phone.
I told them…it’s a Kata phone
Its
light weight…and for me, the 5 inches screen is quite perfect for people with
small hands like me
Front
Left
side is the volume buttons
Bottom
part is the USB slot for charging and data transfer
Right
side is the Power button
Top
part is the earplug and the sim tray
Black
body cover
16MP
rear camera with 2 flash bulbs
It’s
a bit weird that the camera is now on the left front side of the Kata i4.
Most Kata units place their front camera at the middle.
I’m not sure
what is the factor of having a front camera located at the side of the
phone.
Hands
on….

REVIEW
I
like to congratulate Kata Digital for finally leveling up and join the Octa Core
trend. I noticed that they are studying on how to use the best specs and
features for the phone on an optimized level. Because you cannot have the best
specs if you will let the battery suffer. For a 2300 mAh built in battery, I
tried wifi-ing my way around for the whole day and I noticed that it survived
til 12am ( I went out of my home at around 2pm and used the phone to the maxxx)
As for the Dragon Trail screen and metallic alloy body, It already
survived a nasty fall few days ago and I was worried that the screen might be
broken or the body might get some scratches, but I’m glad that it can be a
smartphone of steel with this new feature for the Kata i4.
Screen
for browsing and activating the apps is just fine. Keyboard positioning is okay
for a 5 inches screen.
I
also tried playing some games and watching some HD videos, the screen performs
well based on its specs. The camera works fine on outdoor with daylight
conditions, just make sure you wipe out the smudge from the camera before taking
pic in order to prevent blur photos.
Some users complain that the old
Kata phones heats up during heavy usage, I noticed that the Kata i4 didn’t have
that heat problems. I’m not sure if the battery stays on a location away from
the processor. But if you play some games in a non stop situation, expect the
back of the phone to heat up. For wifi, its ok and there’s no heat problems.
I'm not sure if its the 1st time for Kata to have a smartphone with a non removable body cover, with this feature, you can no longer add more memory space to your phone. Plus its a single Sim phone only. But I'm ok with it if they will sacrifice the dual sim feature and the expandable memory feature, but rest assured that the phone is sleek, durable and doesn't look cheap.
Kata i4 is the new monster of Kata Digital, I call it that way because they
created a better model that is ready to face to the future.
