Bonifacio Global City is my fave city in Metro Manila and now I have another reason to love BGC more, a restobar called Cable Car. Just outside, you’ll pass by a group playing Beer Pong and enjoying themselves on a Friday night. Arrived early for their blogger’s night and chilled with Mica and Chloe of When In Manila.
Talked a little about food and their intern experience as the DJ played trendy music. We were upstairs while waiting for other bloggers to arrive and got some cocktails (non-alcoholic for Mica haha, wish I was also as young as seventeen haha).
Chloe and I ordered a cocktail called Punyeta, feels weird ordering that drink and saying it like ‘Kuya, punyeta ako’ and ‘Ako rin punyeta’. After that Myrra of Yours Truly Myrra came, also a blogger and ordered white wine. They are all in school and I was the only Tito on that table as the young bloggers took snapchats and IG stories and me awkwardly waving on their on their social media stories.
Thankfully I was not the only Tito anymore as Irwin of Swirling Coffee joined the table and Jana of JanaLegaspi.com arrived. After we exchange pleasantries and blog introductions, Daniela of Cable Car told us the story of how Cable Car started and what they offer.
Cable Car started in 1992 by Thomas Welch in Makati with its San Francisco pub vibe that is great for hangouts and drinking sessions. In 2007 Welch sold it to a Canadian businessman and after two years sold to a group of investors. Cable Car just celebrated its 25th year.
There are lots of new food offerings that Cable Car launched this year, together with its Classic Cable Car staples like the Cable Car Rice that will make the restobar more cozy and feel at home when dining at Cable Car.
Check out their delicious food!
All of the food we’ve tasted were yummy and topping my list on the food feast were the Hearbreaker Pizza, Flaming Wings and Fish Taco.
There was a long moment of silence on the table because we were busy eating and munching the spread on the table. We were so full that night and very pleased by the ambiance and food at Cable Car BGC. We enjoyed that night while the band plays upbeat music, as I reminisce my college days and tried to sing Khalid’s ‘Young, Dumb and Broke’ with the younger bloggers.
Capped the night and finished my punyeta cocktail as one by one we left Cable Car but with new friends and newly added pounds. I’ll definitely come back and try the beer pong with friends.
All Cable Car branches are open until 5am so more time to have fun and be merry (.. and also be wasted depending on your level of fun haha). Cable Car BGC and Ortigas are open 6 am onwards serving Breakfast and also Lunch.
They partnered with BigDish, a mobile app that reserve seats and you can
eat at Cable Car with discounted prices (different discount per hour).
They have ongoing promos like the beer bucket promos for Heineken and San Miguel ALL
NIGHT from Saturdays to Thursdays and on Fridays they have bucket of Heineken only from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. They also have a bundle promo from Moet Hennessy.
