2018 YouTube NextUp and Pop Up Space Manila! - know the winners and see the new pop up studio

I traveled all the way from Sorsogon and flew a plane on an early morning flight and right after I landed here in Manila, me and Ted went straight to BGC to attend the annual YouTube event - the revelation of 12 winners from the YouTube NextUp Class of 2018 and also the opening of the collaboration day for all invited YouTubers to try the Youtube Pop up Space.

I dont want to miss this, that’s why I scheduled ourselves to attend and hope to get a collaboration with top YouTubers and also get to meet some of the rising stars of YouTubers here in the Philippines.

YouTube NextUp selected top 12 from hundreds of applicants, they are YouTubers who have the range of 10,000 to 100,00 subscribers. YouTube is here to help these video creators by giving them a chance to score free mentorship from top YouTubers and creators on how to make a kick ass production for their channel and also get a PHP100,000 voucher to use it for production gear for their next video creation. Wow!! That’s one awesome support from YouTube, even if its a 3 month support and partnership, the offer is an awesome privilege to get noticed by YouTube.

This year Youtube is smart to hide the 12 names and all will be revealed in their Youtube Collaboration Day event.

So here are the top 12 members of YouTube NextUp Class of 2018
1. Carlyn Ocampo
2. Jam Raquion (Jam-packed)
3. Melissa Ricks
4. Elle Uy (Elle Uy Decor)

It was mentioned that the YouTube Collaboration Day event will also launch the 2018 edition of Pop-Up Manila aka YouTube Pop Up Space. For this year with the theme: Learn, Connect and Create, they invited YouTubers with at least 10,000 subscribers to come and visit the pop up studio ( which I believe it will be available for a week) and have a free use of the studio and get a chance to collaborate with top YouTubers here in Manila.

Also the pop up space studio will be used by the 12 winners of YouTube NextUp, and it will serve as their classroom and production studio for their activity.

Opening the doors of YouTube Pop Up Manila, the officials from YouTube presented to the media and guest the most fastest YouTubers to generated 1,000,000 subscribers in less than a year. And that’s the couple YouTube vloggers - Ja Mill - Jayzam Triniad and Camille Manabat.

Today their Ja Mill channel now have 2.4 Million of subscribers.

I’m one of their subscribers and I’ve learned about this from my younger nephew in the province, who watches their funny videos and pranks on YouTube.

Youtube now can start to replace TV, some of us are no longer watching TV and we just play some video on Youtube for some information, news and entertainment. We now watch videos by demand only. But Youtube want to share a message that their online video platform is for everyone. There are content that are suitable to any ages and any content you want are all in Youtube.

But still we need to identify the legit creators. That’s why Youtube is doing these events to highlight the upcoming creators that needed to be patronized by Youtuber viewers.

I dont know those 12 vloggers, but knowing them here at the event, made me curious to sub to their channels.

Youtube also gave the Gold Button Creator Award to two Youtube creators
1. Ja Mill with 2.4 Million subscribers
2. LiveLoveParty.TV with 1.2 Million subscribers

So if you want to be entertained by some slapstick skit and prank drama videos go watch Ja Mill, and if you want to learn how to zumba dance and do fitness routine, then watch LiveLoveParty.TV.

Congrats to both Youtube channels who receive the award.

Btw the mentors for the Youtube NextUP was also revealed that day.

Here are the mentors, who I believe are alumni of previous Youtube NextUp
1. Blake Sarion
2. Chino Corpus
3. Lino Matalang
4. JC Gellidon

Congratulations!!! Also to Jun of KITHARA! Congrats!! Great to see you again and ngayon ikaw na pala ang sikat sa Youtube! (the guy with glasses sa front) He is the bassist for his band KITHARA.

Youtube also invited us to have a tour inside the Pop-Up Manila.
Here is the area for their talks, seminar and workshop in a classroom-like environment.

There’s also a kitchen style for food vlogging

And a talk show set up. Youtubers at the Pop-up Manila will enjoy the collaboration with their fave Youtubers and fellow vloggers.

There’s also this street style set up. I think you can film here some skit, action drama story and also make up! Hahaha.

Sayang! I didnt got a time to stay, but it was great to see Youtube is back here to help us content creator. And that’s how you can keep the community stay alive in using the video platform.

Before I left the venue, I met a guy named Ian, he said that he was there during my blogging seminar and workshop in Thunderbird Resorts Rizal and wow!! I was amazed to see him and he thank me for inspiring him to do more content, he didn’t launch himself as a blogger, but he became successful as a Youtube creator and his channel is all about bicycles and mountain biking.
