Fully Booked is bringing multi-awarded and best-selling author Neil Gaiman to Manila to launch the Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards Anthology, a compilation of winning entries from the contest’s first three award seasons.

Neil Gaiman and Fully Booked initiated the “Philippine Graphic Fiction Awards” in 2005, after Gaiman visited the country for the first time. During that visit Gaiman and Fully Booked decided to help spur the growth of unrealistic fiction in the country, after the author realized that “there is already a fine tradition of realistic fiction in Filipino literature.” (more below)

SM Supercenter Molino - wifi and food bloggers event (field report)

It's my 2nd time here in SM Supercenter Molino, and the last time I visited was last 2005 after it was opened to the public. We did our groceries here and also checked what's in it and saw that the structure of the mall is unique from other SM malls.


SM Supercenter Molino opened on November 18, 2005. It was built in the middle of 4 SM Supermalls - Bacoor, Dasma, Sta. Rosa, and Southmall. Market is composed of family, college students, and market goers. They have 3 operational food stalls - Sizzling Plate, Inihaw Express, Chansel pizzahouse, and 7 food carts located at the SM Food court. (read more below my feature)

Flash flood and hail storm hits Melbourne, Australia today

We just received a sms message from Joni, sister of Lace who lives in Melbourne, and they informed us that they are okay and the city just experienced a massive storm surge, flash flood and hail storm. She gave a news site form Au. and we saw those freaky photos of the flash flood. Looks like they experienced an Ondoy Typhoon like that hit Manila last year. Btw, Happy Birthday to Joni, hope all of you are okay and fine.

The bouncers and their muscles

I just observed that some bouncers who are incharge in some events or concerts uses their muscles to much and not their brains. I just observed this many times whenever I will ask for a certain person incharge of the event and they will simply answer that they don't know them, but after understanding the situation and tell them that I like to talk to the people who can help me get the person I'm looking for, they will simply answer that they don't know anyone from the event and don't know who's incharge.And then after finding out that this bouncer guarding the media gate can't really help me, I decided to tell him that I need to go inside and look for the person incharge myself, I will leave my bag and things to him and allow me to enter the event and go back to him at the gate after I got my pass, but then the bouncer guy will just answer, I don't know anyone and I was asked to guard the gate and not anyone enter it.

Ok, got the real problem now, and told him, I'm not interested to talk to you and need to talk the person incharge, paikot ikot lang tayo and I don't want to wait here at gate waiting for nothing. I raised my voice already and it seems that the bouncers with big muscles didn't use his brains in understanding a solution for this problem.

Bouncers at events should be briefed properly,whenever they will deal with special guests, media and celebrities. I just observed from another event that this bouncer guy infront of the stage took us away from the stage area, I told him I'm one of the official person being invited to cover the event, and after that he drag away some photographers out of the front of the stage, I told the bouncer guy that how can we do our work if we stay out of the stage, he said that he got orders from the organizers. Okay I understand after knowing the 'organizers' word, but I told him that I'm interested to talk to the organizer who told you that, then he looked around and said that he don't know the guy organizer. And told him. What if I am the organizer and instruct you to clear all the people infront of  the stage, will you do it? then the bouncer guy looked at me and then can't even answer my question.

I mind my own business and take a time to do patintero with the bouncer guy while taking pics. I even saw that he instructed 3 person to go out of the stage, but then these persons are wearing ALL ACCESS ID, then the 3 persons were shocked and asking why would be out of the stage, I think they are one of the special guest of the event or maybe the organizers. I told the bouncer that they should know first what's the ALL ACCESS ID is for, and beside the area is for ALL ACCESS people and not the area for the audience, I told the bouncer guy that they must be the organizers and should not shooo them away.



I know not all bouncers are like that, but I guess the bouncers I encountered maybe their first time to be incharge at the event. But here's a tip, we have to out wit them if ever we need to deal with them.

The big, the bad and the ugly of iron armors will be released locally here in Manila. I just wish that there will be no people who will bite other peoples head just to grab some exclusive stuff. I know it will be a fun event, but for a toy collector, it is time to prepare your wallet and those magic plastic cards.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (full movie trailer)

I just saw the full movie trailer last night at the Alice in Wonderland premiere and my expectation for the movie just changed after the watching the trailer. I think this will be another upcoming trilogy movie after the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. I just hope Walt Disney can get God of War too and turn it into a live action movie.

We're here at Krispy Kreme Jaka Makati, doing some live blogging and after a few minutes they will launch here the new addition of doughnuts. The kruffins were first released in the USA and now they are here and  first to be available here in Asia, and we pinoys are lucky to have new kind of doughnuts.

Broader tourism data analysis to boost economy

The Department of Tourism (DOT) further reinforced its technical assessment of tourism traffic to the country to capture the aggregate and accurate state of tourism and its contribution to the economy.

“We have expanded our assessment to include a more systematic and in-depth analysis of top destinations to provide a clearer insight on the tourism movements throughout the country. Understanding these movements allows us to create strategies to further support the development of these destinations. This system also creates awareness for these places in the national level,” said Tourism Secretary Ace Durano.

Ford Escape is once again the official chase vehicle of the 15th Philippine Hot-Air Balloon Fiesta

I saw these Ford Escape at the balloon fiesta, they roam around and used to travel that bumpy ground of Clark field, I already rode a Ford Escape last week and one of the blogger I know owns one, and I got surprised when I read the name of the car from it's back after I hop off. It is much spacious than the CRV, but I like the seat style and its not that big and not too small. I might review one of the babies soon and do a test drive, (check out below for full news)

meeting the White Queen and got my Alice in Wonderland premere tix

Finally! I met the White Queen, as I instructed our Movie Bloggers and Manila Bloggers Network to contact her and claim their premiere tickets from the White Queen and everyone got surprised that the White Queen I'm referring is Sharon Yu, we know that she's the tv celeb and host of basketball game on tv, and now she's the brand ambassador for SM Cinema, it's great to meet her and now I'm excited to meet the Red Queen on March 3.

I also got tips from Sharon that the Alice in Wonderland IMAX movie will be available exclusively in SM North Edsa IMAX, and this will not be available in SM MOA IMAX. The movie is also available in all SM Cinema Digital Theater. I also heard that the SM North Edsa IMAX lobby will be remodeled and re-opened in the coming months, I think they will add more useful stuff there for us movie goers.
