Day 1 – Our next stop for the tour is the eco park and resort
on top of the mountain here in Kabankalan City, It was mentioned before to us by
our guide that they have another eco park that is taken care of by their LGU.
The Balicaocao eco park and highland resort or also known as Balicaocao Highland
Resort is located in Baranggay Orong in Kabankalan City, going there via van or
motrocycle habal habal is around 30-45 minutes if you came from the highway, the
drive way will lead you to the mountain and road going there is a big rough and
driving up to the mountains are a bit slow because of the terrain and hairpin
curves.
At the bottom of the mountain, you can ak the locals there about
the habal habal motorcycle ride, I’m not sure how much is the rent, but I have a
big feeling that the price is around PHP 200 too.
The most interesting
part of Balicaocao is that they offer FREE Zipline adventure to everyone! It’s a
400 meter zipline and you can use it for FREE, too bad that when we arrived, the
operators of the zipline are not available due to the Sinulog festival in their
town.
Not just a resort with swimming pool and cottages, it is also a
camp site and hiking venue for adventure seekers. The entrance fee to Baliaocao
is PHP25 per person and you can rent a cottage for a day at PHP 600. There’s a
sari sari store nearby where you can buy your food supplies, When we were there
I spotted some foreigners who are enjoying their ice cold Red Horse Beer, they
went there by riding their easy rider motrocycles.
Here’s my window view of the mountain, on top of it is the
Balicaocao Highland Resort.
Inside Balicaocao Highland resort, pictured here is the event
center area, I think this place is rented mostly for wedding and special
occasions.
Spotted: cottages that you can for an overnight
stay
spotted: cottage for a day rental and a happy camper at the
side of the hill
Awesome view..you’ll see the rest of the Kabankalan City on
top of the mountain
