That’s the big prize for this year’s Juan For Fun 2016, the ultimate backpacking challenge organized by Cebu Pacific. The contest challenged these young travelers for a 7 days tour around the country with a budget of PHP35,000.
The five teams are task to do whatever they can to visit the most popular destinations and document their travel by photos and videos—which will be graded by judges along with points acquired from on site challenges.
The photo above is the epic scene that I captured when they announced the grand prize winner. The green team is #JFFJuanTeamPH, with members – Glenn Layola, Audrey Ramos and John Ray Blance, all students of LA Salle Bacolod, together with their celebrity travel mentor Robi Domingo.
At the blue side who won 2nd place is the team #JFFTeamPura and with their adventure coach Bogard the explorer. Btw, I voted for them onsite, but Im still thankful and happy that they landed in 2nd place.
The grand prize, which is an unlimited flights from Cebu Pacific for local and international destinations for one year has been awarded to #JFFJuanTeamPH. They mentioned that they will use it to travel around the PH first, and then once they are finished touring around, their next step is tour around different countries.

The Juan For Fun 2016 backpackers
rep of Department of Tourism was present at the awards night. He mentioned that he likes to recruit the Juan For Fun participants as ambassadors for tourism.
rep for Cebu Pacific is also present, announces that there will be more travel and backpacking competitions in the future.
At the program, they showed to us the video blogs that was produced by the Juan For Fun participants.
We learned from the video that travel is not just leisure and exploration, in every travel serves a purpose.

At the end of the program, Champ’s band “Hale” took us into a massive throwback by performing their music hits.
