I'm going to Taal, Batangas later

I'm going to Taal town in Batangas City, its the town located at the other side of the Taal Lake, I'm going to the town and not in the Taal Volcano. When people hear the "Taal", they remind me them always the volcano, but there are lots of interesting sites and historical venues in Taal, I'm so alien to the town and I don't know what's in there, but thanks to our local travel bloggers for organizing a trip for our group. me and 12 travel bloggers will be there to tour around and try also their yummy food.

There are lots of blog post about Taal, and they are published by our local bloggers.
I'll post an update soon via my Facebook and also Instagram

I'll travel via bus coming from here in Cavite, and since my group will be coming from Manila, I'll just go straight to Taal and meet them there in the morning. It will be my 1st time to commute there, I got a tip that I should ride the Tagaytay bus or Lemery bus , and then after the bus drop off at Lemery, I can ride the jeep going to the Taal town. My estimate travel time will be 2-3 hours.

thanks to Ramil for organizing this trip

thanks to Dexter Panganiban for sharing his Batangas blog -
we're excited already to try their tapa and longanisa -

Pay your bills online, enjoy the holiday and GetOutMore!

I’m ready to fly again!

The holiday season and vacation breaks make us so busy in preparing for the big celebration like Christmas and New Year. There are times that all establishments are closed during the near of the holiday break and there are no other chance for you to pay for your electric bills for example, and other billings. Last week, I just experience a hectic schedule and I forgot to pay our electric bill and we are already due for almost a week and My wife is mad at me because I forgot to pay our bills. Paying bills is a stress, you’ll have to make a sched of it, and then go to the payment center or establishment, stand in front of a long line going to the counter and then wait. I should be using those holy payment hours in other things, like finish my workload or eat a yummy cake at home. Another lessons learned…pay the bills on time OR pay it via online.

Yeah, there’s such a system that you can pay your bills online.

I told her about the system that she can pay our bills via BPI 24/7 channels and it can help you pay your bills via Express Online, Express Mobile or Express Phone. There will be no more worries next time when you pay your bills online and this is a big reminder for me to apply a BPI account and also enroll my account for an online payment system c/o BPI. Getting a BPI savings account will just require you to deposit P200, and then voila! you now have an account. (this reminds me that I should get one next time when I visit the mall )

Also, enjoy the holiday by going out more, check out the BPI GetOutMore promo and campaign, they just gave away free travel with accommodation plus pocket money!

Lucky holidayers already won free trip to Bohol, Boracay and Davao. But today, they are looking for 4 more winners to get a free trip to Cebu, Puerto Princesa, Legazpi and Iloilo. You could be the next winner!!!

Promo will end this December 31, 2012

I already talked about this before, you can read my blog post here at

Fixing this Mac Book Air (knock off version)

funny macbook air in windows 7
Its not a real Mac Book Air, it’s a netbook with a body of a Mac Book Air and running on Windows 7. I just spotted this at home when a family friend visited us and I got fooled that I thought it’s the real thing, he told me it’s a Mac Book clone running on Windows 7, I didn’t believe at first but when he told me that there’s something wrong with his netbook, I check and fixed it. There’s a minor problem in its charger, and with a little tweak, the netbook loads normal and boom!! I saw the big Windows logo haahah.

I told him that this netbook is an eye candy, I want one and I can fool people around me and thought also that I’m using a Mac book Air.

He mentioned that the netbook came from Korea, wow! I didn’t know that they make these clone netbook

If you look closely, it looks like a real Mac Book, check out the keypad, mouse track pad and the cover

I forgot to check the specs of this netbook, but looks okay running on 1ghz processor.

Have you seen this here in Manila ? do you know where to buy one? hahahah

Also my son Ashton will receive more new toys, I spotted some cool new toys but it was sold in SM Sta. Mesa and there’s no stock in the two SM Malls that I visited. I’ll also buy and hunt for more new Tomica toy cars and toy set.

Lunar halo of the moon last December 25, 2012 Philippines

Lunar Halo of Dec 25, 2012 Philippines
I didn't expected that I'll witness a lunar halo during the night time of December 25, 2012 at around 7:00pm Christmas night here in Cavite, Philippines. I went out of that house to scout for a good location for a fireworks display coming from SM Bacoor, but before the fireworks display, I spotted the moon and its lunar halo glowing so bright above the night sky.

I took a pic of the lunar halo using my Olympus E-520 and in P mode and not using a tripod, I got one good shot with blurry backgrounds. Awesome sight and its my first time to see a lunar halo

What's a lunar halo?

A 22° halo is a halo, one type of optical phenomenon, forming a circle 22° around the sun, or occasionally the moon. It forms as sunlight is refracted in hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. As the light beam passes through two sides of the prism forming a 60° angle, the angle of minimum deviation is almost 22° (namely, 21.84° on average; 21.54° for red and 22.37° for blue). This wavelength-dependent variation in refraction causes the inner edge of the circle to be reddish while the outer edge is bluish.[1] A 22° halo may be visible on as many as 100 days per year  - more details at Wikipedia

Christmas shopping blues

I'm so frustrated for 3 days already because I failed to visit the mall and do my shopping and grab some gifts to be given this Christmas eve and the same old problem that I'm facing every year is having a last minute shopping. I'll visit the mall tomorrow to buy items and I'll just make a raffle game at home and let them pick a number and get the winning item under the Christmas tree. That way it will have a different Christmas gift giving from me hahhah.

lessons that I learned this year
1. If you saw the item in a store, grab it while you're there
2. Bring lots of money when you have time to visit lots of malls a week before Christmas
3. Make a list of names of people you that you will give a gift
4. Avoid the free gift wrapping services (yeah I don't like waiting and I just wrap the gift my own)
5. Pick up checks and deposit them in the bank before the bank holiday
6. If you saw a unique item in a bazaar or tiange, go grab it!

Its just weird..I can dream back again with  Dayanara Torres, but not with PSY. I'm glad that we're not gangnaming all the way in my dream, but its just a tour around the country, well if it will be turn into reality, I want to tour him around the Philippines.

Yishion clothing in Manila

Yishion in Manila
I’m not that fashionable when it comes to the latest fashion, but I’m more on street wear style and simple clothing for men, I don’t shop for new clothing or pants, but I’m more a fan of polo shirts and shirts that have some trendy style and design. When I heard about Yishion store that opened up their two branches here in Manila and in Imus Cavite, it’s the 1st two branches coming all the way from their mother store in China.

I’m not familiar with the fashion style in China, all I know is that most of the clothing styles are for cold weather and styles are much more different here in the Philippines since we have warm weather. But when I saw their branch, they put up a clothing style that can match in our tropical country, I’m glad that they do a nice research on what kind of clothes that are appropriate for us and not just importing products and clothes that is best for winter season hahahah.

For more details about Yishion Philippines
visit their Facebook page at

According to the PR kit that I have  ----- "Established in 1997, Yishion started as a manufacturer in the fashion capital of Humen in Dongguan City, China. Boasting of ISO 9001:2000 certified operations, it now has 19 regional offices and over 5,000 franchised stores worldwide. The multi-awarded clothing brand has also expanded its reach to Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, UAE, Qatar and other countries in Asia."

Yishion in Manila
Me and my wife Lace went to their 2nd branch and saw that it’s a big store and not just a small boutique that sells a handful of clothes, I didn’t know that this store is very popular in China and also in Singapore.

Yishion in Manila Yishion in Manila
They carry nice design and style for men, perfect for street wear, urban and formal styles.

Yishion in Manila Yishion in Manila
I’m surprised that their pricing range is a little bit high and it already matches the price of other top brands that we have here, they need to compete with the price and also with the design. But I know that their designs are much different and unique because the fashion is perfect for Asians like us. I’m glad that they have some price mark down and you can score this jeans for only P990.

Yishion in Manila Yishion in Manila
I also like the shorts and polos, but it’s a bit pricey for me so I didn’t pay too much attention, from a price at around P1,200 up to P1,500. Okay, I think I should buy clothes more often, just to make my self comfortable on these prices hahahaha. Sorry, I was born on buying clothes at Surplus Store.

Yishion in Manila
The sando’s are very trendy and fashionable.

Yishion in Manila Yishion in Manila
The apple of my eyes are the jeans and some polo shirts, I really like that colored striped polo shirts, but that time they don’t have stocks in XL size.

Yishion in Manila
I tried some of their striped sleeves polo shirt, the XL size is just right for my size. I think I need to loose more weight in order to fit more to their XL size. But as I say, its just right and I’m glad that I got rid of 10lbs few months ago.

I’m a super fan when it comes to t-shirts. I grabbed a piece of that shirt with colored squares that looks like a QR code and with a computerized word of “Feel Great”

Yishion invited me and the rest of the fashion bloggers that are present to this store tour for a on the spot shopping for P3,000 and a fashion challenge here in our blog. I haven’t joined in a fashion challenge but I’m up for the challenge and will try fashion blogging hahahaha.

Okay, I’m at the counter throwing up all the fashion items and also the GC. Thanks Yishion.

I’m ready to roll.

I hope they can bring more t-shirts with cool designs. I’m not a fan of those commercialize branded clothes, but since I love wearing not so familiar branded clothes and born from Surplus stores, I ‘m starting to love Yishion because of being unique here in Manila.

I can go out wearing a different shirt and never worry that I’ll bump with someone who is wearing the same design shirt that I’m wearing hahah

rock on! Yishion!

my only wish list.... PLS open a store in SM MOA!!

thanks guys for the comments about my post
