I’ll
be on TV again for an interview for the tv talk show of Prof. Winnie Monsod in
GMA NEWS TV “Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie” the show will air tonight at
10pm. I know that the topics discussed in the show are a bit political, but for
their mother’s day special, the tv talk show host Prof. Winnie will requested
for a lighter topic in observance of mother’s day.
Tonight they will
feature about The Aristocrat restaurant, we know that its considered as the
oldest resto here in the Philippines, many thanks to the founder of the
resto Aling Asiang for bringing this all pinoy food resto to us since 1928.
Today the resto is operated by the Reyes clan, the restaurant is doing well and
continues to expand in different cities.
Last
week while I was on the way to Sampaloc,Quezon for our town fiesta, I received a
text sms and Facebook message on my phone, its about an invite for a tv
interview about The Aristocrat restaurant, Thanks to the free wifi of the Jac
Liner bus, I closed the coordination hours before I lost the mobile signal when
I reached the town of Lucban,Quezon. Thanks to Bryan for the fast response and I
did fill up that text interview via SMS while the jeep is on the way to the next
mountain that covers Sampaloc, Quezon.
They told me that they found my
blog about our Southern food trip adventure and Aristocrat resto hopping last
month -
http://azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com/search/label/aristocrat%20restaurant We
scheduled the tv interview after Labor Day, and I’m glad that there’s no traffic
yet in Manila.
We did the tv interview here in The Aristocrat restaurant in
Roxas Blvd. Manila.
Ms.
Maryjo of the Aristocrat restaurant was there too in one of the private function
room, she welcomed me and offered a nice lunch meal and also…yummy cold halo
halo!!! omg. it was like heaven after the first sip…it helped me really beat the
heat last Friday.
TV
interview started…..ok feeling Mikael Daez lang ang peg ko for that day hahaha.
I
also ordered this chicken barbeque, one of the original classic of The
Aristocrat, I always order this since I was 10 years old.
Did
you know that the Aristocrat was the earliest food truck here in the Philippines
? they became a mobile food service before it became a restaurant.

I
didn’t know that they have a special landmark sign infront of the restaurant. I
just saw this when I was waiting for a cab to SM MOA.
Its awesome to see
this historical landmark at the other side of the street.
