[Photos] ACen - Anime Central 3 Day event in Chicago

Greetings from the Windy City Chicago!

I'm so tired from attending the 3 day event of Anime Central (ACen) in Rosemont, IL (Chicago's version of anime, manga and Japanese culture!) last weekend. And I'm happy to share some of my photos here in Azrael's blog :) Hooraay!

ACen's mission is to bring fans and unite together to explore the Anime and Manga pop culture (just like we're doing at Toycon!). The convention runs all day (from the day to night, even until midnight!) showcasing an exhibit, game room, concerts, panels, workshops, screenings, autograph session and a lot more ... that's right, the program schedule is really jampacked and you have to decide which event you'll be attending or else you are going to miss them!

I pre-ordered the ACen badge months before the actual event by registering to their website, www.acen.org and my badge for the 3 day event was delivered via mail.

I also downloaded the guidebook app (before the event) wherein the event on each day is updated on real time so you can easily decide where to go. It also contains the venue map so that you will not get lost (the venue is really huge!). You can also access information about ACen and some other event highlights.

Donald E Stephens Convention Center is filled with anime and manga enthusiasts, and I think 80% of the attendees were in cosplay, thinking of cosplaying next year! lol

I am sharing the photos I took, don't forget to visit my blog glamourmoments.net for more personal experiences in ACen

Cosplayers, cosplayers, cosplayers are Everywhere!

See you on the next ACen in 2015!
I'm your mascot for the day!

I'll be missing Toycon 2014...yay!!!

Caleruega in Batulao, Nasugbu, Batangas, a place for nature adventure and be closer to God

P6164425
The church on a hill in Caleruega is very popular for weddings and special mass, the place is a nature haven and also a magnet to people who loves the view of awesome landscape, its my first time here to see the Batulao mountain and its one of my dream to climb and hike that mountain, it’s a start for me to enjoy the view first and plan soon for a mountain adventure, most newbie for mountain hikers starts there.

Caleruega’s name is inspired from that town in Spain, I’m not sure if it resembles the same structure or style, but here in Batulao, Nasugbu, Batangas, it has its own identity.

Infographic: Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking

Thanks to Sylvia for sharing this infographic about how to overcome your fear of public speaking and how to become a better speaker.

This infographic is helpful for those who want to try public speaking, I used to have this fear in the past, but as I practice more and expose myself to lots of public talks and forum activity, my public speaking turns out fine, but I need to work more on how to stay on the topic and stop that stuttering.

If ever I will share a tip, that will be that you should always take your notes and review it before talking infront of the audience.

We love to use these Filipino slangs as reaction to any conversation or just to annoy the one we are talking to, its also a way of being funny and as a sport when it comes to hitting a joke or breaking some rules. Our country uses 11 recognized languages and there's 175 dialects in all islands of the Philippines. You won’t find this category in books, but you’ll hear the series of catchphrases on the streets, from local television shows to just about anywhere where the influences of media exist.

Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo star in HBO Original Movie THE NORMAL HEART May 26 on HBO GO / June 1 at 10PM on HBO

PHILIPPINES, MAY 19, 2014 – Directed by Emmy® winner Ryan Murphy (“Eat Pray Love,” “Glee”) and written by Academy Award® nominee Larry Kramer (“Women in Love”), adapting his Tony Award-winning play of the same name, THE NORMAL HEART tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, and takes an unflinching look at the nation’s sexual politics as gay activists and their allies in the medical community fight to expose the truth about the burgeoning epidemic to a city and nation in denial.
