#ChristmasAroundthePH final blog series: SM City Marikina presents Christmas carols by Psalm of David

Blogging is back!! Happy New Year to all! I'm sorry that this blog post came here late, the holiday season just took my energy away and was out of town for many days, Internet connection in my area is bad and I only got the time to post this as soon as I arrive home.

Our final and last leg for the Christmas Around the PH blog series is here at SM City Marikina. And the coverage that I present here is that the Psalm of David Harmonic Orchestra did a live performance of Christmas Carols at the Christmas center piece of SM City Marikina.

I've learned that this was their 3rd and last set for the entire December Christmas season. I thought that they will just perform the regular and common Christmas songs, but I was blown away by their energetic performance of a Christmas medley mixed with throwback songs from the yester-years.

The Christmas carols of Psalm of David is here at the center piece featuring: Shopkins

Psalm of David is a support group that helps kids to bring out their talents and also teaches them values education, most of their students are out of school youths.

I've asked the SM City Marikina marketing group why they have Shopkins as their center piece, then they explained to me that Marikina City is a shoe capital city of the Philippines, one of the licensed characters that they selected to use as a theme for the center piece is Shopkins, so here they showcased the different animated design shoes from the Shopkins toy line.

Shopkins is a kind of toy that are very popular to young girls, its like their kind of Barbie of the millennium age.

Psalm of David singers did a non stop 1 hour Christmas carols medley mixed with Tagalog songs and classic songs

The 1 hour set invited shoppers to watch and listen to their awesome medley performance.

I received also the good news that the Bears of Joy in SM City Marikina is sold out!!!
That morning, they awarded the Bears of Joy teddy bear doll to SM City Marikina's beneficiary - the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) of Marikina City.

Kids brought by the CSWDO was there to receive the bears at the awarding in SM City Marikina.

We were planning to buy 3 pairs of Bears of Joy, but we didn't get to buy one because its sold out.
But at least, its a good news!

Congratulations SM City Marikina!

BEHIND THE SCENES

Shakey's just opened a new branch here in SM City Marikina. wow! I can say that the taste and texture of their pizza is still accurate, After tasting their pizza, it teleported me to the time I took a bite of a Shakey's pizza back in the 80's. There are lots of new pizza concept that was released by Shakey's but my heart still goes to the original Shakey's pizza.

Visit Shakey's at the top level of SM City Marikina.

Also thanks to SM City Marikina marketing team for touring us around. I really miss SM City Marikina, its the nearest mall to me when I lived in Santolan, Pasig. That mall became my tambayan because of their Starbucks store.
