5th Annual Manila Comics Seminar - production note 23

i think the production note will reach 27 hehhhee..

so here are some updated what I done lately.
this afternoon I went to manila to print these posters needed for the comics seminar, on the road inside the car, i hitched a ride to Liza going to PWU and its on the way to manila, i decided to finished all layouts for the seminar and even that I didnt finished the uploads I just continued to do the layout thingie inside the car while on the coastal road highway.

when the car reached manila, I felt dizzy and sick and turning cold for almost 3 hours
I almost puked inside the FX ride going to manila and i rested down in the fx just like a patient going to a hospital. kinda weird..

so after the printing stuff, I rode a taxi and drive it all the way to Megamall.
bill is around P150 and just feel fine and rested myself all the way from manila to megamall.

the placed all the posters to Powerbooks and then I met Reno Maniquis, creator of Maskarado comics, its cool to have a chat with him again. and finally just told him that Im a super fan of Maskarado since highschool hahaha..never realized that the comics was way back 1992.

then rode the taxi again to Outback, Libis, QC there we had a dinner meet up with David Campiti, my boss and CEO of Glass House Graphics, the american guy who bring jobs for pinoy and give oppourtunity to work for international comics. Bong Dazo was there. and it was an awesome night, talking about the field of our work, the comics industry and whoa.some cool philosophy about art and stuff by Bong Dazo, its cool to see his wisdom about art and he wants to share this at the seminar. He is a multi talented guy, did music, theater arts and visual arts. one cool guy to work with.

this is my food for that night ahahahaha.
a tenderloin fillet. never realized how it look but it taste great !

been finalizing all stuff with Michelle, our manila boss here and i just got some great updates on everything, now I am excited for this saturday's event. really excited to see all people again.

we ended our dinner meeting and then I made a quick stop in Gloria Jeans, in Robinsons Galeria to use a rest room, for my stomach runs like a tornado, then i rested down for a few minutes and grabbed a hot capucciono just to relax my tummy. while I rest, i surfed down the net, check emails, send important stuff to people and blog it here before my coffee last.

im now running a mobile office and it seems that I will be having a whole day mobile office again here the whole afternonn. because I will be having a live tv guesting in this morning show at a call timeof 6:00am..

too bad that everyone is unavailable to attend, yeah I know its early hahahaa.
but I need to use that mileage and it will give big benefit to the comic seminar.

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
while I rest down, I was chatting to my sister and then RG sent this photo of me at the Comics and Manga Day ahahahaa.. my camera that Im holding looks like a toy.

ok im signing off and ready to go tummy works fine now.

see ya again on the next post

Comic Book Signing with John Beatty, Leinil Francis Yu, Etc.

snatching this post from :

// I cant go there, and im at my own event at the comic seminar.
now all i need is a power of jamie madrox... huhuuhuhuh

it seems that OCTOBER is really for COMICS MONTH.

Comic Odyssey will be celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary with a signing event with John Beatty, Leinil Francis Yu, Edgar Tadeo, Mico Suayan and myself.

The event will be held on October 27, 2007, Saturday, at the 3rd Floor, Pedro Gil Wing of Robinson’s Place along Pedro Gil in Malate, Manila from 1pm to 5pm. Raffles will be held every half hour.

This is John’s second visit to the Philippines, and as many comic book fans would know, John is the legendary inker for many comic books for Marvel and DC including the very first Secret Wars, Captain America, Batman, Superman, The Nam, Spiderman, Avengers, GI Joe, Green Lantern, Justice League, Magneto, New Mutants, The Punisher, and so many more.

Leinil Francis Yu is my one time pencilling partner on many titles including Superman: Birthright, High Roads, New X-Men Annual 2001, Fantastic Four Annual 2001, Wolverine, and Silent Dragon. He’s since worked on Ultimate Hulk and Wolverine and New Avengers.

Edgar Tadeo is a very talented curly guy who has either colored or inked titles like Spawn, Iron Man, Wolverine, Silver Surfer, Captain America, and High Roads.

Mico Suayan has recently knocked people dead with his debut on Marvel’s Moon Knight.

Glorietta closed today

i was listening to the radio in DZMM and they reported that Glorietta is closed today for a massive investigation and inspection of the whole Glorietta.

I recorded the radio report while ago in order for others to be aware that the mall is not in operation, but my audio seems to get some problem and decided not to upload it.

i was planning to go to Glorietta today to check and see how people behave inside the mall, I was thinking of eating there and also buy some stuff needed for the comic seminar this saturday.
I just want to have an experience to see and prove that it is safe.

But according to the news last night that the incident last friday was not a bomb, but a structural error in the mall that results to an explosion in the basement of the mall.
and now they are labeling it as "an accident" rather than a terrorist act.

there are no news in the net about the closure of the mall, but its better to call the Glorietta mall admin if you want to confirm it. I just heard the news in the radio.

5th Annual Manila Comics Seminar - production note 22

it was a wet ride this afternoon, the whole metro is under a big down pour once again and i hate it. walking outside and entering the mall all soak up with rain. But nothing can stop me in finishing my mission today. And like Hiro Nakamura of Heroes, "I must finish my mission".

Its a fine day in Megamall and just visited the venue to check and settle some accounts and then after fixing it all I just dropped by to Filnegosyo and check whats inside and to have an occular inspection for my lecture gig this friday.

While walking media men and flashing cameras came infront of me and then I automatically grabbed my camera just to shoot and see whats that big crowd is for as I shoot my camera.. click click click click in frame by frame shot and to then a group of men in suit walk infront of me and then just realized it was Vice Pres. Noli De Castro. aahahaha..funny because he was starring at me while I shoot my camera and never thought about his bodyguards.
oh well just a typical day in a business filled event nearby.

then after having a short meeting my boss in Manila, I run like Flash in the Cyberzone and grabbed a hot cappucino coffee drink and log on via wifi to check and send some important emails. Im now un hyper mode and also excited for this coming saturday, but still the comic seminar will be alot more different compared from last year. even that I encountered some problems today, I just prayed and hoped that all will be okay.

Been receiving lots of txt messages and calls, they are inqury about the seminar tickets.
it seems that people will be getting their tickets at the venue, even that we place lots of ticket center in the metro, all of them will be getting their tickets at the event itself. I just speculated that they might be afraid of buying advance tickets, because if they bought in advance they might lost it or left it at home.

The seminar room is a theater type room, expecting 300 people this saturday just like last year. Now im downloading the banners for the tarp and will send that to our tarp printer.
ID's are still on progress and Im finishing all of it. the booklet, the banners, the exhibit needed for the event.

now im having a little rest and relaxing at home here we are having a videoke night and having fun til late night even that we will be busy again tomorrow for work and school.

night will be great if theres a beer or a chocolate vodka on my right hand hehehhee

5th Annual Manila Comics Seminar - production note 21

im starting to panic today and yesterday was my relaxing and rest day for this week
and now im having a major stress in all of this.

i ran out of a deal with this publisher and now im having problems on how will i have a decent event poster and booklet for the seminar. i really dont want to use my own money for this production but i think it will leave me no choice. problems circulate in a no communication matter that devastates me and it leave me days to figure it out on how will i fix all of this.
but i understand their case and now my stituation becomes worse.
and im glad that there are people around me who are supportive and willing to use their own money to help me in this gig. thanks to them and their love on what I do.
il be going back again to them for some big assistance. *wink *wink

just to make the show better and everyone happy in the turn out of it.
i guess its time to consult this with my boss.

good to hear that he will be in manila this week.

the bombing incident in Makati really affects everything. and because of that im on a study of the behaviour of the people around and in the mall, but last saturday and sunday , the people are still flooding mall, but some are too afraid to go out and go near some Makati malls and just headed to megamall.

I feel secured today after the friday incident and the security in all over areas are very strict
and in Megamall have a great check point and also the guards remind every mall goers to allow them inspect their things.

now its more on a human behaviour study for this event, which is the most important part of it.
for some incident I am more afraid in a natural disasster than this bombing thing.

time to fix my stuff again for a meeting today and headed to megamall.

another update of this production note will be posted reporting the status of everything.
I really appreciate everyone who reads this and comments alot in my page.

see ya later !

we will be having a part 2 of the tv appearance and guesting in UNTV Bread Tambayan today at 5:30pm. thats channel 27 in UHF.

Im watching the update in ANC LIVE.

the news below is forwarded to me by RG via YM

A fire broke out at Glorietta 4 shopping mall in Ayala Center, Makati City, radio dzBB reported past noon Sunday.

Mall employees, who were told to vacate the area, told dzBB that they saw thick smoke coming out of the establishment.

The report said windows of the Seafood Seafood Market restaurant at the mall's second floor were shattered, and firemen were on standby. Police cordoned off access to the site.
