Manikako Doll Exhibit and Workshop in Podium Activity Center

Feb 23rd is the last day,if you have time or near the venue. check it out!

I first heard the group Manikako in the net and then I was surprised that they joined the ToyCon 2007 last year, I saw their booth on that day but too bad for me that I was so busy managing the ToyCon didn't got much time to check out their DIY dolls and art crafts, but here in their exhibit I was stunned and happy to appreciate their craft in creating dolls into a toy, art and collectible.

you can check out here an album of photos I took awhile ago.

Morning connectivity

Im here in Starbucks, Podium having my morning rest and enjoy drinking my mocha frappy, also they have a free wifi connection via the AccessZone of Podium, I went to the 2nd floor of the cafe and I plugged my laptop to their electric sockets, there I check my email and other stuff, because at home in Pasig we don't have a DSL connection. Me and Lace are still in Manila and we stayed overnight in Pasig because she now have a work every Saturday. And me spend the time here while waiting for her to go out of the office

now I'm too lazy to walk and run, I'm still sleepy.

Knight Rider, the fast and the furious KITT

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
image from IGN

For me, they should done this tv series into a movie. Well' I just over reacted too much on too much car scenes hahhaha. I do have little nostalgia of the old tv series of Knight Rider, but didn't grew up too much from it, but I only remember is that talking car KITT and the driver- the Hoff.

But this 2008 Knight Rider is not a remake, but it is a part of the original Knight Rider tv series and it was mentioned in the new tv series that this is the 2nd generation of the KITT car, the black Mustang car for the KITT 2008 is one big weapon, if I'm going to get a PC or a toy, the KITT 2008 is the best toy there is. Well I just hope that this is real.

The story revolves around in a 2 hour car chase and introduction of the new KITT and the characters. Funny to see also they mentioned Michael Knight and the new driver for the KITT car, I guess the Knight Rider line do flow in the blood. A cameo appearance of Michael Knight appeared on the last scene. At first I speculated early that the enemy in the tv series might be Michael Knight, but then I just guess that he will be appearing soon in some episodes and might be bringing up the 1st KITT.

I didn't researched on what happened to the 1st KITT. but I just love to see it return and do a contest with the new one.

for me. the 2nd gen KITT is much stronger than the 1st gen KITT. it looks like a merge KITT and VIPER car, yeah I watch the tv series VIPER, with lots of cool gadgets and abilities, I just dont remember if it talks ahhahahaa.

If you didn't grew up with Knight Rider, you should try this. just don't mind the actors and poor acting on the pilot episode. Just focus your attention to the car.. yeah! the car speaks! and the main character of this tv series.

I want to see KITT fights with robots and other super cars in the future episodes

The Assassination of Jesse James premeire night out

above is my short video blog while we wait for the cinema to open in Rockwel Powerplant Mall

Last night was the premiere night for the movie promo and organized by MAXXX. The movie is "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford". I just already a review of the movie on tv and was surprised that theres already a DVD out in the market in the US. But we got late again here in Manila to air the movie, but its okay! it is better to be late than never.

I was confused on the name Coward Robert Ford, at first I thought he was a writer or a director of the movie, and I'm familiar only by the name Jesse James and didn't know that the Coward Robert Ford is one of the characters in the movie and was dubbed as the coward murderer because he shot Jesse James in the head and great to see an effect of his death with vertical blinds and other realistic props thats like in the west.

It was a great history movie for me, Brad Pitt as Jesse James and Casey Affleck as Robert Ford aka Bob. Funny thing on Casey is that I can't remove Ben Affleck's face on the screen hahahaha. While Brad's performance is great! he is a bad ass and fit to one of those wild west bad characters.

Don't expect that the movie is like other wild west films, make it a little different approach, try thinking Wild West meets drama and books. Its like reading a book and know more about what happened to Jesse James and the gang of robbers and what ended to them after committing a big crime of the 1800's.

Shoot and Kill!, sometimes the gun shot made my butt fly in the air, gun tooters fires out of nowhere and bunch of flesh rips out of it, it is so realistic and thats the way how a gun fires and bullets hit human flesh.

with my sister in Coffee Bean, cool to see that the mall offers free wifi access. All you have to do is install the WiGo toolbar, register and then you can access the internet for free.

if you like the wild west and some part of history. This movie is a good choice for you. Just to remind that the movie is all talkies and you need to pay attention not only to Jesse James but also with other characters revoling around. Character development didn't take too long, a narrator of the movie will help you out identify who's who in the film.

check out Wikipedia also for the history of Jesse James, it will be better to check out the info and later on check the movie trailer.

The Joker action figure for the Dark Knight movie

I just saw this Joker action figure posted in the Darkn Knight group Facebook and I was wondering if this will be their final touch for the Joker figure, it seems that the face of the Joker here looks too happy and not too creepy. It doesn't look more like Heath Ledger and why am I thinking too much of Robin Williams in this figure haahahaah, maybe this is an effect of too much jokerishism in my life.

Below are some of the images that I downloaded and also a short look on whats the blister pack packaging layout. Many people commented after seeing the cover of Action Figure magazine, Indiana Jones figure looks more a bad ass than the figure of Joker.

Also my sister shared to me a news that a Heath Ledger doll will be for sale soon.

An action figure depicting Heath Ledger in the role of The Joker is to go on sale.

The 28-year-old had just finished shooting Batman movie The Dark Knight when he died of an overdose of prescription drugs on January 22. Read more new here

I just hope that this doll will be more look like Heath Joker :)

The 7th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention production note 1

At last!!!!
this is the 1st and official production note blog for the 7th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2008, dubbed as ToyCon year 7, and sometimes tag as the Philippine version of the Comic Con San Diego, well sometimes I tag it as the grand daddy of all convention in the Philippines hehehehe.

We just had our 2nd meeting last friday and it was the very official meeting of our organizing team Collectibles Unlimited Assoc., we just laid out our plans and finalize everything we wanted for the ToyCon year 7, I will call it ToyCon year 7 because our convention is already 7 years old! and yes! the convention is getting bigger and bigger every year and I can't imagine already that we reached our 7th year this 2008.

the main venue will be in Megatrade Hall 1-2 in SM Megamall, thats the biggest venue for us compare from last year, and it will double once again the incoming crowd and we will post many attractions of comics, toys, movies, games to everyone. I'm still dreaming of having a 3 hall event for ToyCon, but we will just see if we can surpass the event last year.

Our first meeting was 2 weeks ago and we got a meeting with our partners, sponsors and other entities that will be added to the ToyCon family. I already posted some news in other toy groups but I'll just give a big suspense for everyone hehehhe.

I'm now reformatting the contests and also other attractions, I'm trying not to post the full details for now because I'm avoiding other events that might copy our concept. I'm so afraid if that happen. There will be a lot changes for the contest, I'm trying to organize all the prizes details and also will get new marshals and production people for the event, ( hey if you're reading this and you're interested to join the team, you know where to reach me :)

also the cosplay contest will be removed this year, we will not just removed it but we will do a lot of changes for the ToyCon year 7 and this year will not focus more on the toy, comics, movies, games only. But we will be focusing more on the Pinoy's greatest contribution for the world of this hobby, pop culture and fandom. And don't forget Mr. billionaire by day and dark knight by night will be the main theme for this year.

and might have a cough! cough!*exclusives * cough..t-0- zzzz.zzz

my first production note for ToyCon year 7 ends here and will update more and give you the latest of the goodie ol' stuff we will bring this year.
