Guardians of the Galaxy movie review (my rating 4/5) non spoiler post

I’m super hyped for this movie and I’m glad that I got a decent sleep and woke up early in the morning to catch the first screening at 10:30am. The Guardians of the Galaxy movie now playing in all Philippine cinemas and it’s a one day advance before the global release of the film. The movie took place in the far reaches of space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and yes it is a tie-in movie that will lead soon to a massive cross over of Marvel superheroes in the future to battle the mad titan Thanos, and that might be in Avengers 3 or might get its own title – “The Infinity Gauntlet”

We know what happened after the Avengers movie and Thor 2: The Dark World, it’s a start for the upcoming culmination of superheroes and super villains that will battle each other to possess the powerful weapon in the galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy character shirts now available in SM Store

The Guardians of the Galaxy character shirts are now available in SM Store, I just saw this few weeks ago and took some photos of two kinds of shirts that I want to buy, I’m having a bit problem with SM Store teens section sizes because the size XL is like size Large to me hahaha. There are other designs but I super love the Rocket Racoon and Groot shirts.

On my 3rd week recovery and rehab for my elbow injury

Last July 13 was the 1st treatment for my elbow injury, the ortho guy injected some steroids in my elbow were the pain is present, he told me that I have the tennis elbow injury, you can read my experience here at

After 3 weeks, I can say that my elbow is not fully recovered, the pain from the inner bone of my elbow is gone but the doctor said that I should rehab it and not lift any heavy stuff with my right hand. I did some research about tennis elbow injury and treatment with steroids and they say that it will not give you 100% recovery and it only lessen the pain to help you recover the torn tendons.

License plate cover ban in the PH

On July 7 this year, the Land Transportation Office announced that they will confiscate the license plates of any motor vehicle, cars, vans, trucks and motorcycles included, that has the frame or the plastic cover. When this ruling came out, there was so much confusion because one LTO official said that only the new plates will be covered by this rule. It turns out that all license plates, old and new are covered.

As it turns out, even the frames are to be removed and will be fined, get this, P5,000 in penalties and the confiscation of the banned accessory. The Automobile Association of the Philippines has shown support for this new rule.

As a motorist, the ban raises a lot of questions. What is so wrong with the covers?

Ashton’s Hot Wheels, Matchbox and etc toy car collection 2011-2014–photo gallery

After Tomica, we also collected the Hot Wheels and other lines of Diecast cars, anything that is made to look like a car is a magnet to my son’s eyes hahahaha.

We also started buying Hot Wheels from 2011-2014, we also added some Matchbox, Maisto, LEGO and other diecast and plastic toy car brands. Then Ashton started to love the CAT construction vehicles and then he shifted to Bruders (arghh thanks to those Youtube videos that influenced my son to patronize those expensive vehicles )

Then he started also trying to collect those pull back action cars like the Go Gear, Nano Speed and Spin a GO, and then he also got a small collection of Tagamoto, those cars that moves and turns via a infra red sensors and some codes. He also got a Micro Chargers set.

Ashton’s Tomica toy car collection 2011-2014–photo gallery

This is one of my project in the past – take photos of my toy collection and create my own catalog, the idea started when I saw that my Transformers and robot toy collection are growing in numbers, in having a photo album catalog, will remind me that I have those in my cabinet or box. But the idea was from the years that I was single and no kid yet.

Yesterday, I made that idea to reality by taking photos of my son, Ashton’s Tomica toy car collection. It was a holiday and we just rest at home and watch cartoons on tv, After watching Totoro movie with my son, we ate our merienda cooked by Mommy Lace and then I stood up, grabbed my Olympus EPL-1 and mounted a 17mm Sigma prime lens and start shooting the Tomica cars one by one.

After the shoot, I moved on taking pics of his other toy car collection – Hot Wheels, Maisto, Matchbox and etc. I will post them soon in a separate blog post.

Stackers Baked Fried Chicken (a stack of 15 pcs )

I got invited to try and check out Stackers’ Baked Fried Chicken in one of their branch in Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila. I waited for another month to try it because I was so busy for the whole month of June and I promised that I’ll get back at them this July. I was surprised that the marketing team of Stackers were faster than me and sent back a reminder that we can do another schedule of meet up and also for me to try their new product.

I have tried many kinds of fried chickens prepared by restaurants and fast food, but this version is a bit different, Stackers said the advantage of pure baked chickens is that it is 80% less oil, so okay, they used those state of the art ovens that cooks meat without any meat, they told me that they have it in their kitchen and it is used for cooking the chickens with no oil. When you baked the chicken meat, the special oven uses some kind of air and heat to cook the meat with its own oil.

Sony Bravia 4K TV launched in the Philippines (with price details)

Sony Philippines unveiled the latest 2014 tv line up featuring the all new 4K technology in their Sony Bravia units. The 4K tech gives 3x more HD in the latest Sony Bravia, added with the 4K X-Reality PRO, TRILIMUNIOS Display, X-tended Dynamic Range PRO technology, ClearAudio+™, Long Duct Speakers, Bass Reflex Box Speaker, Social Viewing, internet capabilities, webcam, and One-Flick Remote.

It’s a beautiful tv set that will bring great contrast, brightest and realism, the super high resolution that was shot using a 4K camera helps provide great personal content for Sony Bravia 4K users and owners, I believe that this is the real future of TV, by having the highest resolution as possible and no fancy features. The 4K content will start roll out next and I’m interested to see how they will bring more DVD content shot or converted in 4K resolution.

I got vertigo and dizzy after finishing LEGO Star Wars: complete saga in iPad mini

Me and Ashton just finished the iPad mini game LEGO Star Wars: complete saga, last night we are on the last stage -- episode 1 chapter 6: darth maul boss fight. I got dizzy and was sick til the rest of the evening, I slept early and retired my day.

Then this morning, my son told me that we finish the game, so we played the last level while eating our breakfast, after the end of the game, I felt dizzy and went to the sofa to rest. I told my son that he should stop playing for awhile because the game gave me vertigo.

Now I'm on the bed having some rest. I think I will put away any iOS7 powered devices, will use my laptop and Android devices for the moment.

Battery charging party in SM Bacoor–typhoon glenda aftermath

There are a lot of areas here in Cavite with no power, but there's a
rotating blackout happening since yesterday, and we're lucky to have
it and instead of live in a day with no power. Our water supply is
affected whenever there's no power, also our phonelines are dead too.

Yesterday, we went to SM Bacoor to shop some food and then I saw that
many of our Cavite residents are in the mall to charge their
cellphones and LED lights, some brought their laptop and continued to
do their freelance work.

Read comics or books during blackout - typhoon glenda aftermath

Here's what we do whenever there's no power at home – read books,
comics and play board games at home. I took some of my comics and
showed it to my son Ashton, I also taught him how to read and make
story by reading or looking at illustrations from Malang.

Last night, we showed him some of old encyclopedia about the universe,
human body, transportation and also UFO books.
