Photography: Understanding Exposure (a live webinar workshop)

I'm inviting everyone to attend a one of a kind workshop about Photography, and this is the 1st webinar workshop about photography, you can attend the webinar (that's web seminar) at home or at Station 168 internet shop, you need to have an fast internet connection and computer if you plan to attend at home. There are 3 sessions, 1 webinar workshop, 1 photo shoot activity and face to face meet event, and 1 feedback and review sessions online.

An expensive camera does not automatically produce good pictures. Taking a good photograph comes from knowing the technical basics and developing your artistic "eye". Learn how the technical complements the artistic through this webinar workshop series by Edwin Celestino.

FEB 18 THURS 7PM-9PM - Online class
FEB 20 SAT 10AM onwards - Face to Face
FEB 22 MON 7PM-9PM - Online feedback & review

The Feb 18 session will cover the techniques of exposure in relation to taking a good picture. The factors involved in achieving good exposure as well as the relationship to shutter speed, ISO and aperture will also be discussed. The Feb 20 session will be a walk around the Manila Bay area where students can experiment and apply what they've learned. On Feb 22, the class will re-convene online to share their pictures and to get feedback.

Special tribute to Michael Jackson on the 52nd GRAMMY live on Starworld

GRAMMY® winners Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood, and Usher will join together, along with the voice of Michael Jackson, in a moving tribute to Jackson at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will be shown live on Star World on February 1, Monday, at 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This very special GRAMMY Moment will feature the never-before-seen 3-D mini-movie for "Earth Song" that was created by Jackson as the centerpiece of his much anticipated "This Is It" tour but was never seen by the public prior to this GRAMMY performance.

The 3-D film was created to support the performance of "Earth Song," an original composition and a No. 1 hit for Jackson. The song has a strong theme about the future of the planet, and Jackson saw it as a unique opportunity to deliver a message to millions of people who would have seen him on tour. (read more below)

DOT lauds Caticlan airport expansion

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is extending its full support to the Caticlan airport expansion project which, upon completion, is expected to accommodate 1.2M passengers annually, from its present capacity of 700,000.

“One of the world’s best beaches deserves a first-class airport. We join Boracay's stakeholders in upholding this milestone as it aims to haul in a sizeable traffic of tourists and create more jobs for the people,” said Ace Durano, Secretary of Tourism. The DOT and the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) were present at the project’s recent groundbreaking led by President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo.

Drip is launching three music videos on January 29 at The Gallery Greenbelt 5

The long wait is over as Drip, the country’s premiere electronica band, once again electrifies the music scene with the launch of their new music videos from their second album Identity Theft.

The band is doing it like no other, making huge waves by releasing three music videos in one grand event. The videos were directed by three diverse artists, progressive in their various fields: Jelise Chung for “Turning Grey,” Juan Alcazaren for “Blind,” and Jason Tan for “Bloodletting.” The videos were two years in the making with each one having an unexpected interpretation of what the songs are about. Chung made a film noir feel for “Turning Grey” while Alcazaren took a simple yet strangely amusing and engaging effect for “Blind.” Fans are treated by a sneak peek of their music video “Bloodletting” in Drip’s Facebook account as Tan gave a seductively dark, eye candy video that will no doubt tickle your imagination.

Apart from the video launches, Drip will also perform songs from their upcoming Spanish Album. The album which was done in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes is a tribute to the venerable Spanish poet, Miguel Hernandez. So save the date! January 29, Friday, 6PM at The Gallery, 2nd floor Greenbelt 5 (right across Cibo, beside Adora) as Drip takes you on an awesome electronica trip. Mark Zero warms up the evening as he opens for the band.

Unique and stylish, Drip was also a part of Puma’s Archive Uncovered concert party which paid homage to the past by playing sets of cover songs harking back to the music that they respect or simply have fun playing. The sports lifestyle brand is catching rave reviews amongst Manila’s subculture with musical initiatives in celebration of its heritage collection called Puma Archive.

This event is absolutely FREE presented by Puma with the participation of Jagermeister. Special thanks to Revolver and Everywhere We Shoot and Web Promotions Partner, Identity Theft is available at all Fully Booked stores and Magnet bars. For more information, log on to or

Apple iPad state of the union address
Looks like the new Apple iPad is much more trendy and popular than Obama's state of the union address. I haven't checked the features of this iPad, but as the same comment from other people, it's a giant iPhone. The introductory price of the iPad is $500.

Do I need one? I'm much more interested on its features and not on the looks.
will check it and post a review here.

My workstation here in Cebu

This is my workstation here in Cebu inside the hotel located in the middle of the city,I usually stay here during the midnight til 2am to transfer all my media files to my laptop, check my email, plurk, facebook and manage my tech gadgets. I power up myself to stay awake by drinking coke or eating that fudge brownies, I didn't bring too much food inside, because we stay mostly outside and eat there, This is where I rest and sometimes upload stuff in my blog.

Now I'm wishing to have a same set up if ever I;m gonna have a bed room

1st time in NAIA 3, Cebu Pacific and travel to Cebu City

It's a batch of first time event here in my blog and I'm so excited to do this travel opportunity that will change my life forever, my first touch down as a 1st time early in the morning is at the NAIA 3, I'm been seeing this humongous airport whenever I go home in cab going to Cavite, the airport is very spacious, cold, and pwede ka mag tumbling kahit saan.

From the photo above, you can mistake it as a mall, there are food stalls, mini restaurants (one has with free wifi and others have smoking area), And enjoyed riding on that some sort of conveyor that will you walk faster. I'm really glad that this controversial airport is being used today and I noticed that they are constructing some stores and food stalls after entering and reserving your seat. My wish is that they should put a food area outside the departure gate.

Didn't expected that the PCOS machines are the instant focus of today's media and political blogs, for me the machine is an instant celebrity, this time we can trust the machine in counting our votes and process it the fast way. I also heard that the machine will transmit a sms signal to the COMELEC website and will display the total number of votes of each candidate, that's a big evolution of our voting system here in the Philippines.

So here,I invite you to be part of the fan club of the PCOS machine, success or failure, let's see how these xerox machine look alike can do more this May 10, 2010.

The Pope has spoken! - to priests: Go out and blog!

The news I encountered last night gave me goosebumps, and yes! Blogging is one of the most powerful media and tool now after the old tri-media.And now Pope Benedict XVI announced in Vatican City that priests should use modern multimedia tools, internet and should blog the good Gospels and teach the community by blogging and reach the modern community using the internet. Recently they launched website, it is a web portal that is all about our Pope, there's a Facebook, Youtube, photo gallery and an Iphone app, you can send email and a photo message for the Pope.(read more below)

Who will be the President of the Philippines (in Facebook) this 2010?

Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III -  456,531 fans
Manny Villar - 411,491 fans
Joseph "Erap" Estrada - 831 fans
Nicanor Perlas - 2,431 fans
Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro Jr. -  60,386 fans
Dick Gordon - 5,580 fans
Bro. Eddie C. Villanueva - 19,155 fans
Jamby Madrigal - 347 fans
Jc de los Reyes - 1,273 friends

Few weeks ago, there's this big battle and race of 2 presidential candidate in Facebook, and the race started when the other party gains a lot of Facebook fans, and then the other party boost its online presence and gains more Facebook fan members, I also heard that there is a rumor that the other party registered a new account in Facebook just to reach the number of fans of the other party. This became a media story on TV, newspaper and internet, and I have this report from and they recorded that Noynoy has 210,988 fans and Villar has 158,016 fans last January 2, 2010. These two candidates are hot in the Facebook Fan Page race and this is not yet a good basis who will win the seat as the new President of the Philippines.

Blogs and Twitpic will get you into trouble

The word already spreads in the internet for a few days and shocking to know that bloggers and tweeterers are now in hot water after posting some personal stuff or reactions or maybe a funny experience from the real world. We should now be very careful as people around us are not totally a good sport or easily be affected by some issues or instead of working it out and solve the problem, they will just charge you with libel or charge you for violating your personal rights. I stayed home and created 2 new blogs

I got bored and disappointed on myself for I have failed to attend this event in the evening and also a photo coverage opportunity of the Caracol Festival in Makati. Instead of banging my heads on the floor, or cry inside the closet, I got this plan to create new blogs for myself and mark it under "experimental blogs only".

I don't know if I can update these 2 new blogs, but you know that I have lots of ideas in creating new blogs that will provide good content for everyone, but first let me introduce to you my 2 new blog projects

Pop Machine Media
It is a compilation of all blog contents here in my main blog, but if you view the new blog, you'll see some topics and categories divided and a link going back here for the full article. Pop Machine Media is our working blog media group project since 2008, and it was formed by 3 blogging bandits (including me) that we love to cover events and take photos which we usually do since year 1999. This also a redirect of my domain, serves as a preview for my main blog.

Pinoy Photo Blogger
ha! the blog title is available, that's why I register it right away, Tumblr was supposed to be my photo blogging site, but then I decided to move and start again here in blogspot, this photo blog will serve as my practice blog in photography and also share lots of good pics with different emotions and topics. I just uploaded some samples for the moment, and feel free to check it out.

I'm still tweaking lots of settings for these 2 new blogs, and this is not yet my main blog project, I have more to come and need to build more blogs, to keep me busy and warm myself up and never loose a single energy in online self publishing.

feel free to visit it, subscribe in my feeds, or follow the blog via google connect.
